My poem “in this pink summer of Jaipur” published by Indian Periodical, and a new review of my book Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings

in this pink summer of Jaipur
dressed in silk and in monsoonal dances
choked by smoke
forgotten by lovers
the nuances in which you speak my name sound hollow
and the little girl

who has only a grain of rice

Thank you again to everyone who bought my book, Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings, available on Amazon here.  The book has been a bestseller under Poetry About Love for quite a while including yesterday and the day before yesterday.

The following is another review, one among many, done on an online book club by another reviewer whom I do not know.

Excerpt:

This is a mesmerizing collections of poems, ranging from love poems and writings in form of prose poems. This book brings back old memories, it re-ignites the long gone fire of love within the reader. It has an amazing effect on the reader as one reads the poems, one by one….With an excellent lovely language and lavish imagination, Gabriela ignites a fantastic mind full of emotions….I rate this book 4 out 4 stars. It makes me want to write poems. It is an inspiration, an entertainment and a lively way of educating and reigniting your fire of love. I quote a line in one of the poems,” we desperately want to love, to possess each other, caught in a perpetual rush to justify our existence.” It really makes sense and will make sense till the end of time...”

Inspiring reviewers, people who I do not know, and people who I know, is an honor.

Thank you.

On Love

I must rebuild your love in my brain.
My soul bears the marks of castles lost at sea.

My Dear Readers,

Thank you again to everyone who bought my book. Special thanks to those who review it on Amazon. I plan to feature each Amazon review on my blog. Until then, here is a review, one among many, done on an online book club by a reviewer whom I do not know.

“The work of art is a beautiful thing. Poem is the master of all arts. It creates emotions deeper than mere imagination and beyond. It transfers human feelings to a realm of wonders. Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings is a book of art written by Gabriela Marie Milton…. I was wowed by the poems. I became engulfed in them…I have been inspired to write my own poems starting with love poems….”

Now, for you my dear readers my new poem Why?

The hypnotic red of the flower pots molded in blood.
Dissimulation of an afternoon sacrifice.
An excruciating sunset crosses its fingers.
I tempt fate.
I see the child.
Toys forgotten in the sands.
A yellow like the aroma of the corn on the cob.
The sky dies in the convulsions of your “whys.”
Why?

the world of our making #poem #poetry

on the last Saturday of every month
I see the little girl
who lives inside the world of withered roses and of plasticine
the world of our making cries
delusional
a window thinks it is alive and tries to dance
and in the world of withered roses and of plasticine
where ravens talk
pianos have shut up
I see the little girl
her dress, pale pink
her eyes, mad blue
on her cheeks two tears pantomime a waltz
and on the last Saturday of every month
from the world of our making
the world of withered roses and of plasticine
I send to you my love
a kiss and a forgotten dream
both gloved

Thank you to all my followers who’ve supported me. I wish I could make the sky rain blessings on all of you. I wish I could heal all wounds with my words. I wish I could send you a rose hidden in whispers of love every day.
I will try. I will never give up. You’ve showed me love. I’ll return your love. Every day I’ll try to give you more than I take. That’s my promise to you.
Yours
Gabriela

Shiver (a poem from my book)

A full moon weeps cold fragrant oil on my face.
Shiver.
The cicadas’ song penetrates the membranes of the space.
On one of my arms a purple mark sighs and then falls asleep.
Looking for prey a snake’s tongue splits the time in two.
I feel the bite.
You.

Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings contains new poems, poems published in various venues, and a few excerpts from my manuscript “Glass Lovers.”

your love to be #poem #poetry

my words roam over your skin
your fingers roam around the craters of the moon
I rain blue scents of lovers from Hellada
I love you
I love with you
poplars break the morning sky
throw me to the sea…
it’s afternoon
the time lights candles
on the shore a lace glove bleeds
secrets of the women of the water
you’ll look for me
the virgin lip of an adulterated sea
your love to be

trap me #poem #poetry #rhyme

trap me
in the rhythms of the Flamenco
whose sounds invade the nights of Southern Spain
to breathe the notes of the guitars which play
and fill the lustrous eyes with burning pain

trap me
in the Florence of my dreams
to walk with Leonardo in its streets
to cry with the Madonna and to verse in Greek
when the last word of Christ forever speaks

trap me …
