The night had too many eyes, too many tears, and too many candles. It left sticky traces of wax in our souls. Escaped from its unbearable seduction, the morning light felt like a benediction: the smell of fresh brewed coffee, the whiteness of the tablecloth, the raspberry cobblers aligned on the window of the freezer, your eyes clearer than any mountain spring ever known.
We finished our coffees. Christina, the waitress, blew us a kiss and then threw her hands in the air. Her high-pitched voice rang in my ears:
“Don’t forget to return to the Six O’clock Cafรฉ, you love birds.”
“We will be back tomorrow.”
I saw the trolley moving like a red sleepwalking worm through the windows. We rushed out.
We watched the city and the sea come to life from our chairs, side by side. It was a bridal time filled with the smell of salt and sweet oranges. Your lips trembled, and you spoke about our wedding.
We were going to get married on a boat. We would leave the shore on a Sunday morning. Behind us, all church bells would toll. I would wear a simple dress made from hemp, and a crown of pink fresh roses gathered the midnight before our marriage when the moon rose from the waters. A huge basket filled with a thousand cherries would be set at our feet to make our marriage as sweet as their flesh. Blue and white threads wrapped around our wrists would protect us forever.
The end of the line.
How did we end up at the Six O’clock Cafรฉ again? The trolley must have gone in a circle. We laughed, got off the trolley, and entered the place.
I thought everything looked strange. The refrigerator was now on the other wall, and the tablecloths were no longer white. A long-faced waiter passed me.
I asked:
“Is Christina here?”
“Christina? Oh, Christina quit working here five years ago.”
Numb, I looked at you. There was something deeper than desperation in your eyes. Something that I could not translate.
Your arms pull me to your chest. I could hear your whisper.
“Please tell me we are married.”
I looked at my fingers. I had no wedding band.

Featuring Author Gabriela Marie Milton and her Publishing House Literary Revelations
Gabriela Marie Milton is a #1 Amazon bestselling author, an award-winning poet, and an internationally published author. In 2019, she became Author of the Year at Spillwords Press, and her poem โIf I Say I Love Youโ was nominated for Poem of the Year. In 2022, Vita Brevis Press nominated her for the Pushcart Prize. Gabriela authored the #1 Amazon best-selling poetry collection Woman: Splendor and Sorrow: | Love Poems and Poetic Prose (Vita Brevis Press, 2021) and Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings (Vita Brevis Press, 2020). Her work was reviewed by Manhattan Book Review, Portland Book Review, San Fransico Book Review, Seattle Book Review, and other venues.
With J re Crivello, Gabriela founded Masticadores USA and remained the journal editor for two years. In 2021, she edited and curated the #1 Amazon bestselling anthology Wounds I Healed: The Poetry of Strong Women (Experiments in Fiction, 2022). A year later, in 2023, Gabriela founded her own publishing house, Literary Revelations, becoming its editor-in-chief. All books that Literary Revelations has published since its establishment became #1 Amazon Bestsellers (in several categories) and or #1 Amazon Top Releases.
Anthologies like Hidden in Childhood: A Poetry Anthology (Literary Revelations, 2023) and Petals of Haiku (Literary Revelations, 2024) achieved even higher recognition. Petals of Haiku, together with its cover art painted by Japanese artist Hikari, is displayed in the Treasure House of the Rinsenji Temple in Japan. Petals of Haiku was also presented by the Japanese Artist Naoki Kimura (end 2024โbeginning 2025) at the fine art exhibition in the Nagano Prefecture next to Matsumoto Castle in Kyoto, Japan.
NY Glam: Congratulations on your new publishing house Literary Revelations. Can you share more about it?
Gabriela Marie Milton: I founded Literary Revelations for two deeply personal reasons: to honor the memory of my mother and to create a space where the tapestry of human emotionโlove, nature, sadness, and joyโcan be freely explored. At first glance, this may sound banal or overly sentimental. However, I assure you it is anything but. The reality is that countless poets struggle to have their work published simply because they do not conform to certain academic criteria or established norms in literary circles.
In many cases, talent alone is not enough; it often comes down to connections and who you know within these exclusive networks. This is precisely why I am passionate about giving a voice to extraordinary poetry that captivates the soul but may never grace the pages of traditional poetry journals. I want to showcase living poets whose work deserves recognition nowโnot posthumously.
As someone who writes about love myself, I understand how beautiful it is to explore the depths of the human soul. Through Literary Revelations, I aim to celebrate those voices that may otherwise go unheard and create an inclusive platform where every heartfelt expression can shine brightly. Join me on this journey as we illuminate the rich landscape of contemporary poetry together!
NY Glam: Can you tell us more about your own books and where they can be found?
Gabriela Marie Milton: My Books Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings, and Woman: Splendor and Sorrow can be found on Amazon and other internet retailers. I have documented my feelings on paper, and I am satisfied with my books. When my publisher wrote in one of the forewords that Gabriela Marie Milton is the type of poet Robert Graves had in mind when he referred to being a poet as a condition โ rather than a profession, I had tears in my eyes. It was the same when Christina Schwarz, the author of the New York Times Bestseller โDrowning Ruth,โ wrote, โWith lush language and lavish imagery, Gabriela Marie Milton. evokes a fantastic world ripe with emotion.โ
From the reviews Iโve received, it appears that people view my poetry as lush and cosmopolitan and see me as a painter of feelings influenced by my European background and experiences.
NY Glam: Tell us a bit about the other books youโve published.
Gabriela Marie Milton: I am very active on social media. I read day after day beautiful poetry. I felt the need to publish others. I want the beautiful poetry of my followers to be featured and appreciated in a world that often overlooks raw emotion and genuine expression. Literary Revelations aims to shine brightly amid the love and struggle we all experience, providing a platform where heartfelt words can resonate with others. Literary Revelations is not just about showcasing poetry; itโs about celebrating the human experience, its joys, sorrows, and everything in between. I uplift voices that deserve recognition and create a tapestry of shared humanity through poetry.
NY Glam: What has been your personal key to success?
Gabriela Marie Milton: For me, the key to success lies not in the relentless pursuit of accolades but in a deeper understanding of what truly matters. When we shift our focus away from obsessing over success itself, we create space for the things that enrich our lives. Loving peopleโcherishing relationships and nurturing connectionsโbecomes paramount. Through these bonds, we find support, inspiration, and joy.
Equally important is our appreciation for beauty and art. Creativity opens our minds and hearts, allowing us to experience life more fully. Whether through painting, music, or literature, art can profoundly elevate our spirits and inspire us in ways that mere ambition cannot.
Understanding ourselves is essential. Reflecting on who we are enables us to align our goals with our true passions and values. This self-awareness fosters authenticity in everything we do.
Lastly, hard work cannot be overlooked. Success requires dedication and effort, built on consistent action towards our dreams. By combining love for others, appreciation for beauty, self-discovery, and diligent work ethic, we unlock the true essence of successโa fulfilling life rich with purpose and connection.

The afternoon smelled of brick; I used to scratch the wall with my knees and nails on my way to the sea.
My blood stained my socks and fed the roots of the orange tree Mama planted one spring before my seventh birthday. Soon after, the tree grew blood oranges.
I used to dream I would reach the port before crickets would serenade the white cement between the bricks, and the evening wind would sew the wounds from the face of the wall.
I needed a God to lead me to the sea. In Mama’s stories, there were too many Gods leading souls to heaven. I did not want to go to heaven. I wanted to go to the sea.
I used to fail. I did not understand what failure is. The next afternoon, little ducks embroidered on the rim of my blue dress, I would start climbing the wall again.
One day I thought I would get to the port and run straight into the sea.
Little did I know that the day would come when I would first look into your eyes. The sea inside your eyes is like laundry left to dry on a wire. Long red poles floundered left and right like the wings of a moribund bird. The body of a boat eroded by salt, and by the kisses of the women of your past agonized in green and blue.
Your eyes: on the right, your love for me, and on the left, your hate for the world.ย
Did I say your love for me? You see, over time, I had to reconsider that formulation. Your feelings resembled more a never-ending animal magnetism than love.
Let me make one thing clear. No one person is sufficient to drive all demons from another one. You can think of Goethe’s elective affinities if you wish. I cannot save you from you. You need to help me. ย I can carry this conversation into the night and win.
Ah, winning! The day I understood I can win, I stepped into hell.
That day was the day I lost my innocence and, with that, paradise. Since then, my blood has never stained my socks. The orange tree has never grown red-fleshed oranges, and Mama stopped telling stories.

The Miracle of You
the moonโs right-hand pours soul into my flesh pigeonsโ wings bring scents of lilac blooms the air gets drunk with poetry statuary women of the water flaunt their hair
within the loneliness of you my heart rotates five equinoxes on a wooden spindle your eyes pour flesh into my soul my body germinates the sounds of growing leaves I wash my hands into the waters of Guadalquivir in the scented night of those who never sleep I say I love you and in one single breath our wedding is transformed in an enraptured death

Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings by Gabriela Marie Milton is a book of 126 poems; 84 love poems, 6 Italian, and 36 others. In the foreword, the author was praised for her ability to pour out passion, from within her creative mind, into her poetry, and this raised my expectations for deep and insightful poems significantly. The author makes good use of the acknowledgments section, by communicating with the reader, which I liked. There is also a responsive table of contents at the start of the book that allows the reader to resume reading with ease.
As the title indicates, love is an overriding theme in this collection of poems, and the book is opened with one of such. The first poem is my favorite in the book; it took a few re-reads to grasp, but when I did, I instantly thought to myself โGenius!โ.
After my first read, I had no clue what I had just read, โwhat is the link between the title and the poem?โ, I thought, racking my head and moving on to the next poem, hoping for less murky waters to swim in -at the start of the book, it is humorous, I know. However, when I came back to read it again, and started seeing links, I felt butterflies, I marveled at the beauty of the words chosen and how a particular figure of speech was used here or there, and when the stars aligned in my mind, I saw clearly that the author was referring to the night of a honeymoon (it could mean a host of other things to other readers, simply because poetry is art). From this point onward, it was difficult to put the book down.
Geographical locations are referred to in metaphors and other figures of speech. Landmarks in Spain are mentioned several times in the book, and Spanish history is also referenced. A few other landmarks are also referenced; hence prior knowledge of Geography would make the poems all the more enjoyable.
The Italian translations section also has the English text placed by the side. The poems in Italian were very similar to the poems in the previous chapters, that were centered on love, however, one of the best poems in the book, in my opinion, was in that section, โLanguor of love/Languoreโ. The final section in the book, โProse poems and flash fictionโ, had more understandable content, and two of my favorites from it were โArtโ and โThoughtsโ. They were written simply and beautifully.
I liked the wordplay very much, the figurative expressions were so well fused, that a wandering mind would be unable to grasp. This book is an advanced work of poetry, with complex rhyming schemes that change per chapter. It must be read with maximum concentration. This is a book of poems so I would recommend this book to those who like poetry, especially the romantic genre, and have at least beginner-level experience in poetry (like myself), also those who want to delve into poetry for the first time, can give it an attempt at their own risk.
The book has no profane language and mild sensual content, which could easily grow within oneโs mind whilst reading. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, for being professionally edited, conveying a series of beautiful messages powerfully, and being a one of a kind book in its genre.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your day!

frontiers of my being the hour of sunsets has come with bare hands I drown you in the coldest seas red lilies burn you in the hidden valley predatory birds delight in carnal straps I run barefoot through streets of no return I knock on doors a piece of bread for my entire heart
oh, itโs midnight I step into the land of fantasies that are not mine I play with dreams like children play with kites fires taller than the sky burst from my pregnant heart nocturnal marigolds crawl on my skin like ants I interrupt the voice of number Pi from the clouds I rain on you, my love, the silence of the prophets without tongues

And here is a review of Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings that I think I’ve never seen before, and I do not know the reviewer personally.
[Following is a volunteer review of “Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings” by Gabriela Marie Milton.]
4 out of 4 stars
Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings, by Gabriela Marie Milton, is a beautiful book that talks mainly of love and its infinite ways of touching each one of us. It also depicts the true depth of human relationships and emotions, how passion can be malleable, intense, and sometimes difficult to understand completely. What I think is one of the greatest achievements of this book is the diversity it has when it comes to writing: love poems, prose poems, flash fictions, and poems translated in Italian.
The poems are brief, carrying such perceptive and sensorial imagery that they give off the impression of being constantly and infinitely expanding themselves to the universe. They talk about love and how wonderful it is, but also about the disagreements and complexities that come with it. Each poem unfolds different scenery with its very own landscape and emotions. It offers a full repertoire of sensations to explore with all the human senses. The reader will be able to smell, touch, see, taste, and hear everything that the poem narrates, transforming the reading into a unique experience. โThose roses which die in the winter/played the piano last night/a whirlpool of notes and of poems/inscribed on a wall painted in blueโ (p.26) Reading these lines, it feels as if you were immersed on them, surrounded by those roses and the whirlpool of notes and poems. Closer to the end of the book you have the Prose Poems and Flash Fiction. These are short stories written in poetic prose, which is a hybrid genre of writing that mixes the attributes and structures of both prose and poetry, meaning you can find short stories divided into brief paragraphs or separated into lines on the page, which is the process known as lineation, used when writing poetry. The stories narrated in these sections address issues like the strength of character, loneliness, obsession, love, family, and every little thing that comes with human relationships. It is exceptionally and beautifully written and it completely captivates the reader and makes him feel the same way the poet does.
The poems and the flash fiction are highly aesthetic, sometimes even rhythmical, and its unique quality is the ambiguity that they offer. It is poetry that suggests multiple interpretations of the words that it uses, and by doing this, it evokes a lot of emotive responses from the reader. Apart from the main topic that the poems address, which is love, they also have abundant cultural references. For example, when Astraea is named, which is a goddess from Greek mythology, or the Guadalquivir which is a Spanish river, or even Garcรญa Lorca, a famous poet. The writer of this book uses symbolism, alliteration, and other figures of speech such as metaphor, metonymy or simile brilliantly and intellectually. She creates a complex yet excellent layering of meanings, forming connections between the verses that were not previously perceived, and it also establishes a resonance or even similarity between images that may seem disparate when you first read them. It is a wonderful book to read if you are interested in a kind of poetry with universal meaning and value.
I recommend this book to poetry lovers who are looking for a kind of poetry that mixes all kinds of different elements, creating a new way of perceiving love. In this book, love can be found everywhere: on the trees or the river, in the soul or inner self, in the scary darkness, in every city of the world. The poems that this book offers are wonderful because they can show the complexity of love and its many branches. I wouldnโt recommend this book to someone who has just started reading poetry because he may find it hard to discover the underlying connections between the verses or understand the very complex and advanced lexicon this poetry has.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars because, on the one hand, it is evident that it was professionally edited, with no spelling mistakes whatsoever or errors in the typing. On the other hand, the one I consider the most important aspect of the book, is that it represents the essence of poetry with its characteristic sensitiveness and diverse, heartfelt meanings. Gabriela Marie Milton proves to be an impressive, very intelligent, sensitive, and perceptive writer and without her, this book wouldnโt be what it is now: a beautiful, creative and unique book.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning/good evening. Below is an interview conducted by juan re crivello and published in LatinosUSA โEnglish edition. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you for reading.
Gabriela Marie Milton: ยซSo here I am, armed with enthusiasm, ready to help everyone around me sparkle like diamonds in the sunยป.
I always ask our interviewee to tell us about an establishment (cafeteria or bar) that she likes in the city where she lives.
Gabriela Marie Milton
Ah, my favorite bar in the city? Well, hereโs the twist: I donโt like any bars! Iโm more of a โno-go-to-barsโ kind of person. Give me a terrace in Europe any dayโespecially in Greece! Picture this: sitting by the sparkling water, drinking delightful Greek coffee while pretending to be a local. Who needs dimly lit bars with loud music when you can bask in the sun and watch the waves?
Gabriela and I founded one of the first Masticadores. Her work, determination and good work allowed MasticadoresUSA to pave the way for publishing many writers from that country. Later we founded seven other Masticadores in that language. That is why this interview is to show her current work and profession.
J. Re Crivello: Thank you for speaking to us, Gabriela. We will begin by talking about your professional career. (Here you should explain your current profession and how it came about. Maximum 10 lines.)
Thank you for interviewing me Juan and thank you for giving me the chance to work with you. Iโm a university professor by day, trying to make sense of the worldโs mysteries. When the sun sets, I transform into a writer of poetry and fiction. I moonlight as Shakespeareโs long-lost cousin (though he never did return my calls). Iโm also a publisher. Not just an editor who sips coffee and critiques your comma placementโIโm the whole package. I am the owner of Literary Revelations Publishing House. Vita Brevis Press published my two poetry books that have become bestsellers; four years ago they were like the popular kids in school that everyone wants to hang out with.
I owe my passion for science to my father and my love for poetry to my mother (who always said life is just one big sonnet waiting to be written). I owe my parents and my artist friends the world.
J. Re crivello: You have been working with writers for years (in addition to being a writer yourself). Could you explain your work and your commitment in this regard?
Gabriela Marie Milton:
Well, letโs just say itโs not exactly a commitment. Picture this: Arthur Rimbault once said, โI is anotherโฆ.I make a stroke with the bow: the symphony begins in the depths, or springs with a bound onto the stage.โ
Some days I feel like Iโm juggling multiple personalities in the grand circus of creativity. One moment Iโm deep in thought, and the next Iโm watching my ideas falling on paper, so to speak.
My symphony begins from the depths of my imagination or springs forth onto the paper like an over-caffeinated kangaroo.
I love poets. I love artists. Itโs about love not commitment.
J. Re crivello: What is your daily routine like?
Gabriela Marie Milton:
Work, Work. Work. Spending time with my family and meditating.
J. Re crivello: How has your profession evolved? What are the main problems you face today?
So here I am, armed with enthusiasm, ready to help everyone around me sparkle like diamonds in the sun. When we all shine together, the entire universe shines. Itโs way better than being the only glittering star in a small room.
J. Re crivello: Masticadores is a website that tries to reach different readers in various countries and different languages. Of the books you have read, which one do you recommend?
J. Re crivello: What are your future projects? Do you plan to continue developing your work as an editor? You use a social network to publish your content. Can you tell us about this experience?
Gabriela Marie Milton:
I plan to develop my skills as an editor and publisher. I plan to make poets and artists shine to the best of my capabilities. I plan to give as much beauty as I can to the world.

Happy Wednesday my dear followers! A poem for today.
The sky opens. The child continues to sleep, the moon tightly squeezed between his little fingers. In the #bathtub roses, and the aroma of sandalwood invert their positions. I took too many sleeping pills.
I fell into the exaltation of my own double. Grabbed by the claws of a bird the loneliness spams. A conch shell releases your voice. Stars and sea salt. My last I love you.
