Poem by Gabriela Marie Milton

A bird flies over the tower of the church.
A boy tries to bring it down with a stone.
I gave you one single tin soldier. You grew thousands of them.
Led by you there is now an entire army trying to keep every soul away from me.
As though love for one soul requires the destruction of all others.
In the end, the boy brought down the bird.
Hurt, she falls in the sand.
