A reading from Cindy Georgakas’ upcoming book Celebrating Poetry

My dear followers,

As some of you may know Literary Revelations will publish Cindy Georgakas’ book Celebrating Poetry: A Companion Guide to Re-create and and Celebrate.

Cindy is such a beloved member of our community and her poetry is beautiful.

I will release the foreword to the book soon. Until then a reading done by me from Cindy’s poetry. I hope you enjoy it.

Marching on a Mission by Cindy Georgakas

Eyes on the prize,
there will be detours, I’m not going to lie. Keep your focus, just for today,
do what you say you will.
Strengthen that muscle,
for there is an end in sight.
Remember to celebrate when you arrive, because, as soon as you do,
there are going to be others. Donโ€™t let the falls take you under,
pick yourself up from off the ground. You made it!
Youโ€™ve arrived!
Donโ€™t forget to say,
โ€œthank you; I survived!โ€

Thank you for listening and reading!

  1. This is not a criticism, Gabriela, because I am grateful for your work in bringing the work of other talented writers alive. Unfortunately, however, since I wear hearing aids, it is helpful to see the words as well as hear them. My problem, I know. Thank you for championing Cindy Georgakasโ€™s art.

    1. Dear Gerald, thank you for letting me know. I will update the post now and add the words. Thank you again for your constant support ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒน

      1. Thank you so much for letting Gabriela know that Gerald. I too wear hearing aids (one actually; I lost the other), but I know exactly how debilitating it can be. I’m so appreciative of your kind words and honesty with what you need. I just recited another poem on my site with words. They are a little small but legible, I think. Let me know and thanks for the support.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’“

I appreciate your vote of confidence in my wisdom I impart and the impact I always hope to impart on listening ears. I’m so grateful. I agree, Gabriela read this beautifully! Hope you’re feeling better and healing. Thanks for taking time! ๐Ÿ’—

      1. It was my pleasure Cindy and I meant every word. Gabriela was and will always be a mentor. Yes, the reading of your piece was beautifully read and the video enhanced the poetic meaning. I am still under the care of multiple physicians but remain prayerful and hopeful. Thank you Cindy for your kind words and sincere congratulations to you both. Much love, Joni โค๏ธ

I don’t know if you have maybe missed my comment ( in one of your previous posts), but I am adding it here again, really hoping that perhaps you could kindly give me a suggestion regarding my question, thank you very much in advance!

I was wondering if I could ask a question regarding the necessary steps for publishing a paperback version of an ebook, more specifically a question about the ISBN number. I have self published a poetry ebook a little earlier this year, on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, but I live in Europe, in Romania, so I am not sure about how to provide the ISBN number in order to also publish the paperback of my ebook.

I hope you do no not mind my asking, I would appreciate it a lot if you could give me some details regarding that paperback publishing process, thank you!!

    1. Dear Nicole, thank you for your kind words. I am buying ISBN numbers from a very reputable site in the US. I do not know anything about using free ISBNs that Amazon provides. I know they do but I do not know more than that. My advice is to contact Amazon and ask. I hope this helps. Good luck โค๏ธ

      1. Thank you for your answer. I see what you mean, but… I did not refer to the free ISBNs that Amazon provides, no… on the contrary, I am trying to find out ways of getting such an ISBN number to publish a paperback on Amazon in case an author does not live in the US, but in Romania. In other words, I find myself quite helpless regarding this aspect, sadly… and an idea or suggestion would be helpful. Thank you.

      1. Thank you so much Liz and you Gabriela! I’m happy you found it uplifting and beautiful and I think Gabriela’s reading gave it that extra flair.๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’—
