a night poem and a thank you #poetry

my love
my tears wed the earth
the night is naked, and it’s drunk
it dances around roses
with lips which taste old wine
he who wins the night wins me
the many games of life
birds whose flight has stopped
sedated
the night’s a carousel
which turns inside my heart

and…
my deepest thanks to Cassa – a wonderful poetess – who wrote beautiful words about my book Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings. Here is a snippet from Cassa’s post:

β€œReading your poetry is an inquisitive journey
Its richness and mystery evoke my intrinsic curiosity
Once I open the wondrous door to your art
I am completely absorbed in the marvel of your words”

      1. It’s better on weekends when hub doesn’t work. Gets tough during the work week, as the poor thing is sharing my solitary confinement. They can’t go out earlier that 8pm and by then there aren’t kids around.

      2. I suspected it was going to be difficult. Again try to hang in there. You have to heal. If you put pressure on that ankle before you should you are looking at a long recovery. You don’t want that. I am so sorry Bo. Wishing you the best. Love to everyone.
        xoxo

      3. Bo, you do what your doctor says. Mine told me not to walk for a week or two and I did not listened.
I am really sorry you feel so bad. I think it comes down to how you feel. If today was bad just rest. Please keep me posted.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words. I enjoy your work too. The answer to your question is no πŸ™‚

    1. Since my book was published by Vita Brevis Press I talked to Brian about a possible book signing in Florida but under the present circumstances that is out of the question. Enjoy Florida. The area where you are is gorgeous. Meantime stay safe.
      Gabriela

      1. Yes, it is pretty here and very diverse with wildlife also as I wrote about this in my blog. This is new, the Press. That is wonderful.

    1. Thank you so much Christine. I hope everything is well with you. Sending you love and hugs.

β€œhe who wins the night wins me”

This drunken spinning night, it sounds magical. If you are the prize, this night, he will befriend it and become it, and make it his.

What a beautiful poem dearest G. Completely and utterly stunning. You’ve made my Monday.
    Xoxoxoxo

    1. My Dearest R.
You are a gem and a joy in my life. Thank you for your beautiful words. That will stay with me the entire week.
I am sending plenty of love and flowers.
      xoxoxo

      1. What about one of us being the gem and the other the joy. This way we can be Gem and Joy πŸŒΉπŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒΈβ€οΈ

      2. It’s so difficult, because truthfully you are both to me – treasured, rare, unique, a sparkling light in a dark field. But also, you bring me such joy. I feel you are both. I can’t make you one or the other. But seen as you’ve just given me joy, I’d like to give you some back. So, on that basis, if I have to choose, I make me joy and you gem πŸ’Žβ™₯️

      3. Thank you so much my fabulous Rachel (Joy) .
Sending you plenty of love and sunshine
        Gem πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
        Take care sweetheart.

  7. Your poetry flows so smoothly and is so nuanced Gabriella. I’m sorry I haven’t read as much as I’d like to. I went offline and thought of quitting writing because of some nefarious individual on the Internet. I hope you are well.

    1. Hi Nitin, thank you so much for your kind words. I am very sorry to hear that. I saw the email. Nitin, you are a great writer. You can’t give up because some crazy is after you. Ignore him. As for the site (LM) perhaps it should be made private until you guys decide what we should do further. Just a suggestion.
Take care of yourself and do not give up.
      G.
