  1. Hola Gabriela i bona vesprada…Just read your interview and congratulations!!! A most well deserved honour to a beautiful person and a great artist that writes such incredible works, so rich in imagery and movement, depth and feeling as well as passion. And you are right, a professional is made in universities but an artist has to make him/herself and must vindicate his/herself with every work produced. Talent takes time and effort. The old saying that “practice makes perfect” is solid truth and not only perfect that it makes, it develops in the artist his/her talent. Art is not a random process. It is deliberate and must be guided by the consciousness of the artist and you are one of the great ones! May you truly enjoy the honour you’ve been given.
    Un abrazo fuerte,
    Francisco

    1. Muchas gracias por tus amables palabras, Francisco.
Thank you for the congrats and for your incredible support. Thank you for taking the time to read. It means a lot to me. Am I right? I happens from time to time 🙂
“Talent takes time and effort. The old saying that “practice makes perfect” is solid truth and not only perfect that it makes, it develops in the artist his/her talent.” You are right, Francisco.
“you are one of the great ones!” Oh, you are melting my heart.
      Dos abrazos
      Gabriela

      1. Mis amables palabras son la verdad y me place mucho escribirlas porque las mereces, sin duda…you are a wonderful artist and a pleasure always reading your work and conversing with you.
        abrazos,
        F.

      2. Oh, my, gracias. Francisco, I still did not find out what do you do in Valencia when is foggy 🙂 Is it a secret? 🙂

      3. In foggy days we dress in white,
and hide our faces like at night,
when no one sees or hears
        you coming,
        you sneak up
        and silently running
        you caress her silky hair,
        you whisper that you care
        and steal a kiss
        then disappear
        into the foggy bliss…

      4. Such beautiful words. Your creativity flows today.

        and..
        when fog comes
        cover your eyes
        and give me the romance
        of the first kiss
        the sound of mandolins
        on nights of love
        the mysteries of shadows
        in the autumn streets
        the heaviness of fruits
from morning gardens filled with sun
        cover your eyes..

I am not as good as you are today. I’ll figure out something better tomorrow 🙂

  2. Good morning G,

You are so deserving of this recognition. You writing inspires, fills one with passion and melancholy, as it heals.

Congrats. This is only the beginning of your success. Brains, beauty, and infinite talent.
There are no limits or boundaries which will contain this goddess of Europe.

    1. Good morning, Drew.
Thank you so much for reading. Aw… calling me a “goddess of Europe.” You are beyond kind, my friend.
I am really grateful to you for taking the time to read, for the congrats, and for the praise.
I hope your morning is bright and beautiful.
Blessings and take good care of yourself, Drew.

      1. Thank you for your gracious reply. Reading your post made the day even more beautiful.

On a side note; on my way home from the doctor, I really needed a drink to settle my nerves. For three months the only liquid I have digested was water. Stopped in a Cuban restaurant, Padrino. Ordered a key lime pie and a glass of milk. And I remembered you.

We discussed key lime pie one time. Don’t remember the conversation, but the pie reminded me of you. Crazy.

        Have a beautiful day Gabriela.

      2. Drew, first, you take care of yourself. Everything is going to be ok.
Oh, I remember our discussions about key lime pie, those about mojitos (from time time only) and sunsets. You accused me of stealing your sunsets (as in poetry) 🙂

But you said a magic word: Cuban sandwich. Are you trying to make me jealous?

      3. Deal!
Seriously, take care of you. You’re right. There is healing power in laughter.

    1. Thank you from the bottom of my heart sweetheart. Your support and your kindness mean a lot. Wishing you a beautiful evening. Love and hugs.

  5. An elegant interview with Gabriela, harmonizing with her work. A well-deserved rating for author of 2019. Great pleasure!. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Gabriela I sent a long message of congratulations but it said there was an error so hope this isn’t a duplication. Congratulations to my dear Author of the year for Spill Words. You are so deserving of this fantastic award. Your work is brilliant in my humble opinion. It transports me to beautiful and sometimes dark imaginary places. I get lost in your imagery which speaks so deeply and magically to my heart. Your words are so splendidly put together that one gets lost in your words and discovers new places of beauty. May you continue to write your amazing phrases transcending this world to place us into yours. So happy for you my dear friend with such a kind heart. Love 💕 Joni xxx

“I get lost in your imagery which speaks so deeply and magically to my heart.” That is so sweet to say because actually your imagery speaks to me deeply too. How beautiful is this.

Love and blessings to you and your family my dear.

  8. My dearest Gabriela. I cannot describe the joy and admiration I feel in reading this author interview and photo. I feel so honoured to be able to call someone with your talent and grace my friend. You are so humble and exude such creativity and intellect. You floor me. And you inspire me. How many times has a poem fallen into my arms after being inspired by one of yours. I’m so glad you got this award. You deserve it, you’re wonderful.

I’m so sorry I didn’t manage to comment yesterday.

Much love to you my friend – and to quote you and Dante, I send you a “rain of rose petals.”

    Xoxoxox

rain of rose petals pouring on me from the highest of heaven: Dante’s Empyrean.

    1. My Dearest Rachel,
I moderate my comments. I have no idea how your beautiful comment got approved. I did not see it until now. I am so sorry. I feel terrible.
Perhaps WP cannot block your divine words. They brake any barriers.

I cannot tell you how much your words mean to me. It is me who cannot describe the joy your words bring in my life. It’s late here. My heart was heavy – no particular reason- before I found your comment. Now I am floating in the clouds.
You are creative, you have my admiration, and you inspire me deeply. I want you to know that.
“How many times has a poem fallen into my arms after being inspired by one of yours” Thank you. I am honored beyond words.
Rachel, I do not know what else to say.
May our friendship last forever. May you get the happiness that you deserve.
      Thank you for everything.
      G.

      1. Gabriela. I sit and listen to the sea and the most beautiful piece of music as I read your comment. (https://youtu.be/Oq9M32vLAkQ – it was one of my favourite pieces to play when I played the piano). It’s perfect, you helped make my evening.

Your friendship always brightens my day. I hope you gave a wonderful weekend, lots of love and hugs xoxox

      2. Rachel, thank you so much for this piece. It’s truly beautiful. Listening to the sea and to this piece … heaven. Thank you so much for sharing with me.
” one of my favorite pieces to play when I played the piano” So beautiful. I played the piano when I was very young too, but then my parents decided that I wasn’t talented enough… They were right. I was no Mozart.
Thank you for everything Rachel. Lots of love too.
        Gabriela

      3. I loved the song. Oh, Rachel I hate to disappoint you but I am not talented as a musician. Nobody is prefect 🙂
On a total different note I would like to feature the most recent piece authored by you and Watt on my blog in March. I will be delighted if you accept my invitation and if you could check with Watt. Please let me know.
        Looking forward to your reply
        G
        xoxoxo

      4. Oh, now I see…. this invitation. Gosh, I would be so delighted and humbled. It would mean so much. Of course, the answer is yes from me. I can email Watt if you’d like, in case he doesn’t see this?

What an invite from my favourite poetess, Gabriela. You are wonderful.

Now I’m going to have to up my game on the chocolates 🍫
        Xoxoxo

      5. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for accepting my invite. Please let me know when you can what Watt says. Thank you. I am so excited you want to do it 🌺🤗🌸🌸❤️💭

      6. I emailed Watt, and his response echoed mine nearly identically. Quoting him ‘I’d be so honored, I love her work.’

So, yes, darling G, we would love you to post that piece. Really, you did not need to ask 😘♥️🌸🍫🌱🌈

      7. Awwwww, Rachel I am so happy. Thank you to you and Watt for accepting my invitation. I will probably post in the first or second week of March. I will let you know sweetheart. How should I introduce you? Could you please email me?
Plenty of love and hugs to you.
        G.

      8. Please try sweetheart. I used to be terrible too. It’s a learning process. I am so happy you guys agreed to be my guests.
Happy Tuesday, Rachel! I stopped at the market today. I did not buy any chocolate.
        xoxoxo

      9. Oh, Rachel, I promise you next time I will not forget. What kind of chocolate do you want?
Sweetheart, start with yourself. Please try.
        xoxoxo

      10. I’ll let you eat alone but I will be close to your heart Rachel. Very close 💕💕💕
