Adam’s sin #poem #poetry #published

a canary sings
nuptial interludes
your flesh pays its tribute to some other lovers
transitory birds
come and go like seasons
noisy V-shaped flocks
i sigh
then i listen to a monk who reads
from a book of psalms
rings sleep on my fingers
arabesque designs shiver on my skin
pastel sunsets whisper in the winter’s sheen

i walk through your dreams
soaked in poetry, baptized by your verses
your heart adorns my chest
(work of ancient minters)
your lips burn my rings, and with them my fingers
agonizing wings toll bells in the air
i go for your veins, my hands rip your shirt
everything’s a dream
at the edge of silence
mirrors sleep and grin

you’re forever mine!
do you think i joke?
here’s the silver coin which can get you off

that’s what i thought
you would never take it
in the lovers’ bed monasticism’s asleep
a cat purrs on my thigh
your eyes become my eyes
my skin tastes like sweet pie
see, why Adam was so keen to sin?
for hidden in deep waters
You is always I
even in a dream

This gorgeous thing was as wonderful as a sweet dream. Plenty of images painted here.
“Soaked in poetry, baptized by your verses” What can I say about this line. It resonated deep inside of me.
You always make careful use of every word; as if you plucking each one from your poetry tool shed.

Beauty such as this poem, will cure anyone of their insomnia.

  3. Good afternoon G,

Oh, this was beautiful. I believe I already commented on this one, but it is much like that Sinatra song, “love is lovelier the second time round.” In this case reading this was lovelier the second time around.

Will return to read anything else you have posted this week, a beach awaits.

    Have a gorgeous day.

    1. Good evening Drew,

I hope you are enjoying every minute on that beautiful island.
      Have a fantastic tomorrow.

  4. I love it how the details you select perfectly set the tone and feeling so much that I am immersed within your words and absorb the feeling. I ended up lulled into this dreamy state, so that the you and I became fluid even for myself… How could Adam not benentirely intoxicated, how could he not touch something so infinitely beautiful?

So beautiful dear friend. Happy Friday to you and love and hugs to you always, any day, all days xoxo

    1. Thank you for your beautiful comment, Rachel. But then what can I expect from a talented, beautiful, and generous soul like yours?

  6. You are incredible writer…such thoughts, such precision…I have to say, I would have loved to have written such beautiful verses as these:
    “your eyes become my eyes
my skin tastes like sweet pie
see, why Adam was so keen to sin?
    for hidden in deep waters
    You is always I
    even in a dream.”
This is true art! You have much beauty in your head, Gabriela, to create such a lovely poem. And that is saying a lot as your entire catalogue of poetry is fantastic! Hope you are well and good and that this day is a great day for you, well, for us all!
    Abrazos de Espanya,

    1. Francisco. Thank you so much for your beautiful words. They humble me tremendously. I don’t know what else to say besides the fact that I am truly happy you like my writings. Your words fill my heart with joy every time. I am not saying this lightly. I am serious. Your words bring joy and beauty in my life. Your paintings do the same. The artist in you is a miracle. I am humbled I met you. I am thrilled I met you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being you and thank you for your support.
I saw you posted. I will be there as soon as I can. You know I am not brushing over your post. I need to spend time with your posts. Hence my delayed replies some times. But I will not miss your posts. You can be sure of that.

      1. Thank you Gabriela, you humble me as well…and I am truly happy to have met you and the artist that you are as well as the beautiful person…Your words bring joy and beauty to my life as well and also a deep understanding of how words can channel and create emotions, feelings and passion. Take good care and enjoy your day…it is a stormy day in the Mediterranean, rain all day, but it is great because since we cannot go out anyways, it is nice to see it rain.

      2. My pleasure Francisco. I did not see this until now. Sorry about that. Your comment humbles me. “your words bring joy and beauty to my life as well and also a deep understanding of how words can channel and create emotions, feelings and passion” Aw… you don’t need me for that. You know too well how to do those things:)
Thank you again. I hope the weather is lovely today 🙂 I hope you are well.
