Thoughts: as long as they inhabit my mind, they are alive.
Yet too often they climb down on paper to meet their own death.
I guess I am responsible for that, am I not?

That’s lovely!
Thank you kindly!
Good morning G,
A wonderful take on the creative process. To answer your question, yes you are responsible. BUT (yes all caps)…
your words on the page are always brimming with texture, light, and life as they jump off the page. So need to worry about your words or thoughts dying a little death. It is on the page where your words truly begin to breathe.
Hope you are having a wonderful day.
Good morning, Drew
Thank you so much for your gorgeous comment.
“It is on the page where your words truly begin to breathe.” That is so kind of you to say. I’ll take your word on this 🙂
Have a splendid day, Drew.
I stand by every words. Be well.
Thank you. You too 🙂
I think it does not .. if it still saves.
Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate your thoughts on this.
Interesting idea, although you easily also say that the thoughts are “trying to claim immortality” rather than death 😉
Oh, I love your interpretation. I have to think about. Am I saying that or not? Anyway, thank you so much for your great comment 🙂
Fantastic imagination, cleverly written. 🤗
Thank you so much, my dearest Beckie. I am thrilled you think so. Hugs and love to you.
The same to you, Sweetie!!! xoxox!!!
Thank you
xoxo
This is very deep and greatly imagined ☺️
Thank you so much, Ramyani. I am glad you enjoyed it.
It’s my pleasure 😊
🙂
Thanks for the great start to my work week. (Yet too often they climb down on paper to meet their own death.) – I love this line.
Thank you so much, Ash. Have a fabulous week . Happy writing too 😊
I think that sometimes a thing is clear in one’s mind. One knows precisely what one wishes to say and the words are beautiful inside one’s head. However they don’t translate onto paper as one hears them in one’s mind. Sometimes I have a dream and think that would make for a wonderful composition and, on waking I attempt to put it down on paper. But it rarely (perhaps) never comes out as pristine as I dreampt it. Thanks for your thought-provoking extract, Gabriela and apologies for my waffly comment. Best wishes – Kevin
Hey Kevin,
“But it rarely (perhaps) never comes out as pristine as I dreamed it” I fully agree with that. Something gets lost or altered by the very process of writing.
My most sincere thanks for your comment, Kevin. It made my day 🙂
I am delighted that my comment “made your day”, Gabriela. Have a lovely Wednesday. Best wishes – Kevin
Thank you so much, Kevin. You too 😊
I guess. Can you blame us?
No, I can’t, Bojana. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
Fascinating piece, G! From one angle I can see how falling to the page can be a death for thoughts, they cease to be just thoughts and become something else, and that something else is more frozen and less growing than a thought. However, from another angle I can see how it’s also a start of life because now the thoughts are being passed on and allowed to grow in new directions. I guess the best way of reconciling that is to say they die but move on to a new afterlife.
Thank you so much, David. I am thrilled you shared your thoughts on this.
“I guess the best way of reconciling that is to say they die but move on to a new afterlife.” Excellent interpretation.
On different note, those lines are taken out of context. I was thinking… I will leave that for another time. Now, I better think of what you said.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Enjoy your day 🙂
You’re welcome! Thank you for entertaining my little notions.
Oh, interesting. Now I’m even more excited for the manuscript to be finished and publish so I can discover the context and the true meaning.
You’re welcome again, and enjoy your day too
Thank you, David. Only if I can finish it 🙂 Your book will be our long before mine. So I am looking forward to reading you first 🙂
Wow. I am speechless in amazement of the complexities that you have magically put into this short piece. And you failed. You failed at killing this thought. Because it seems 200℅ alive. I think this exists as a human, a model. What I mean is, this is gorgeous.
Hey Watt,
Thank you so much. Your praise left me speechless. Very grateful to you for your comment.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Perfect description, dear G! 😊❤️
Thank you so much, Winnie. Love and hugs to you!
My pleasure, dear G! Love and hugs to you too! ❤️
🙂
So nice ❤
Thank you so much, Luisa 🙏
Thoughts might seem to lose their life or their fluidic nature when expressed in words, when we commit to one version, but this exercise invariably brings many more into existence in the writer’s mind
That is very true. Thank you for your meaningful comment 😊
With those lines, you made my heart skip many beats – well done dear 🌸
How many beats? 🙂
Thank you so much, Shantanu! It means a lot to me.
Enough to escape into the depth of your beautiful writing, but still feel not quenched
Thank you again. What does enough mean? You have to recognize I am insistent 🙂
I made an oxymoron statement read it again 😊
Haha! 🌸😊🌸😊
Did you get it?
I did 🙂
Thank you. I knew you will get it 😊
My pleasure. Does that mean I am smart? lol
It means you understand the unsaid words.
And your smartness is given.
So is yours. There 🙂

P.S. Great painting. It must be you.
Lol. It’s not me.
A clear definitive message. Our ideas and imagination are responsible
to write everything down on paper and share with the world around us that things maybe grim and death but in the end…poetry is the cure. 🙂 I love this so much.
Charlie, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Poetry is the cure, indeed.
Have a blessed day my dear friend.
You are welcome.
Poetry is life and our way of expressing our pain and truth and share it with the world. 🙂
Indeed 🙂

Hi, I’m Brooxy and I’m new on WordPress. I’ve been reading some of your posts. I just wanted to say I love them. This one in particular impressed me, it’s very imaginative. I like to think though, that writing is giving immortality to your thoughts, rather than killing them. I suppose it makes me feel better 😅
