adiós #poem #poetic prose #short prose

Drops of you and me in the winter of our love.

Beneath my vocal cords, fingers knead the tongues of your kisses with the smell of wine.

Our souls dismembered by pasts that do not intersect; creators of a love as elusive as my adiós.

Tea leaves tell our future.

Your steps hang in the streets like the breasts of the earth under a bittersweet sky.

Your face grows washerwoman skin.

The land imprisons me.

I cry.

Las lágrimas del mar.

You and I.

      G.

  2. Astounding, amazing, beautiful with poignancy. To the stars above, this is pure poetic prose and it’s just out of this world. This is like a threnody to the topic of love and perhaps lives that cannot meet until it is the right time and synchronicity. A separation of two. This is impactful, beautiful writing.

Good lord, this is just incredible poetry. It’s a visceral write and read. Beautifully composed, once more, bardess G. 👏🏼👏🏼

    1. Lucy, my dear, you humbled me and then send me to heaven with your gorgeous words. I bask in your words like in the most beautiful tropical sun. Thank you from the bottom of my heart; a heart that will always be grateful to you.
Love and hugs. Stay inspired to inspire us.

  3. Now this my friend is just absolute magic. You’ve got such bold and expressive words here. They really make a conversation with the reader.
sublime, stunning, surreal and so so serene.
There’s almost a sense of melancholy which reads itself in the lines but it slowly grips you into the poem. Takes you deeper within. And leaves you with that strange yet addictive aftertaste. Salt from the tears of the sea perhaps.
Really appreciate the beauty of this composition.
    Btw, you originally Spanish?

    1. Hi Shanyu, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here for me. I am humbled by your friendship and your praise. Your comment is more beautiful than my poem.
“that strange yet addictive aftertaste. Salt from the tears of the sea perhaps.” Read it loud my friend. It’s gorgeous!
May your day be beautiful and filled with love.
      Envío mi amor 🙂
      xoxo

      1. Hello G. You are so very welcome. It is so humble of you to say so.
I’m glad you like the comment. After all, wasn’t it you who taught me to write such heart blushing comments?
In the end, something as stunning as this piece, deserves all of the best compliments strung together, if I may.
Atrapé tu amor justo a tiempo. enviando aún más. Amor eterno.
        Yours,
        Shanyu.

      2. Hello my dearest friend

      3. That’s the best thing we can do really. Bask in words. I did in yours. I’m glad you did in mine. Mind the sunburn though!

        S.

      4. Haha! Sunburn? No way. I am SPF 100 (short-rose-fiction) 🙂

      5. Ha. You almost make cynicism run back ashamed. Truly a utopian dreamer eh? Well thank you for the optimism there. In the world gone dark we really need the stars to keep us going. You are one.
Everything’s pretty good up here. I hope you and Maya are well.
        Btw, what breed is she?
        Abrazos.

  6. Dearest Button,

Both the art and the incredibly music were such a treat and then to be followed by your beautifully crafted words. I am always astounded by the depth of your words, but this poem was so visceral I felt the need to read it multiple times yesterday and then again today.

There is such imagery in this poem that gave me such a primeval feeling. Your words evoke such strong emotions. Your piece brings to life our senses as well as the need to connect to each word. A promise that never survived or lived up to the heart that was captured at one time.

“Our souls dismembered by pasts that do not intersect; creators of a love as elusive as my adios’s.”
“Your steps hang in the streets like the breasts of the earth under a bittersweet sky. Your face grows washerwoman skin. The Land imprisons me. I cry.”

As a poet myself, these words talk to me so deeply. One can hear the echos of the steps, see the aging skin and feel the deep sorrow being expressed in your beautiful words so vividly. “The tears of the sea. You and I.”
The ending is so somberly told.

Bravo my dear friend! Your work is magical.

Sending you lots of love and hugs and looking forward to your next piece as always. Love (J) honeybun

    1. Ah, my dearest honeybun, I did not see this comment until now. I have no idea how it got “approved.”
Anyway thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful words. They make me feel magical. I am so glad you loved the art and the music too. You are a beautiful soul.
Sending plenty of love and blessings for a wonderful weekend.
      G (Button)

  9. “Your steps hang in the streets like the breasts of the earth under a bittersweet sky.”
Here is a line to rival the beauty of many of your other creations! I also love the inclusion of a little spanish (?) to add to the depth of the poem.

    1. Java, thank you so much for the praise sweetheart. You are a gem. Yes, it’s Spanish, I am glad you liked it.
      Love and hugs to you.
      Have a great weekend.

  10. Gorgeous.tears of ocean when one cries as imprisoned by earth and other has to go.most painful feelings in these lines forcing to say adiòs.i am feeling the tears in my eyes.most impressive poem, dear G!!

  11. Oh my. OH MY. I don’t know how to express how much I LOVE, I ADORE this poem. Absolutely mind blowing and breathtaking!

“Our souls dismembered by pasts that do not intersect; creators of a love as elusive as my adiós.
    Tea leaves tell our future.”
You weave such a cozy and gorgeous blanket of words. I don’t want to get out of it. Wow.

    “Las lágrimas del mar.
    You and I.”
I don’t know Spanish, so searched for the translation on google. I hope it was correct because it certainly took my breathe away. “The tears of sea.” I’m absolutely awestruck. I’m constantly awestruck of your mesmerising words.

    Love always,
    Ishita❤
