My body arched like a branch under the heaviness of cherry fruit.
I read from a book by Odysseas Elytis.
You smiled and listened.
The skies sighed.
The bells tolled twice.
Flowers silhouetted against my blood.
Wishes blossomed in…

  1. This is so beautiful, G. Congratulations on the publication! It’s such a beauty with much emotion and rawness. I loved these lines the most:

    “Flowers silhouetted against my blood.
    Wishes blossomed in your sweat.
    I anointed your kiss.”

You are an amazing poetess. You come up with the most intriguing imagery within your poetry. This is art—all of your work is art. It’s beautiful and it’s passionate. You write from the heart.

Such an evocative and lovely piece. Always do keep writing, inspiring, and more. You’re amazing. ❤️❤️

    1. Lucy, my dear you brought tears in my eyes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for gorgeous comment. You always humble me beyond words. Praise coming from such a wonderful poetess like yourself makes my days beautiful.
Lucy, seriously, thank you, thank you, thank you. I do not know what else to say.

    1. My dearest Ely, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a sweetheart. Sending you plenty of love and hugs.
      xoxoxo..

  3. My dearest Gab,
    “White,
    We drank two lemonades…”
Here you called to me and held my hand.
    “The skies sighed.
The bells tolled twice.Flowers silhouetted against my blood.”
Here you worked that magic of yours. Stunning imagery. Subtle personification. Lovely atmospherics.
But when you penned: “I have no other answer.
Yet.” You had my heart. And that’s all you’ve left me to say. Your words themselves compliment the poem’s flair. And the flair compliments you. I don’t know if that makes sense, but what I know for sure is that this poem left me breathless. In the best possible way.
Ooh. Love is in the sensual spring air.

    1. Mi querido amigo,
Your comments are as beautiful as a spring dream and its sensual air.
Am I still holding your hand and having your heart even if I reply to your comment late? I hope so. Sorry for being late, Shanyu. To make sure you forgive me I am sending you plenty of love and the evening scent of red roses. May the softest breeze play in your air. May you be loved forever. May you stay inspired and inspire others.
      Always
      G.

      1. Mi encantado amigo,
Oh come on. You really think this friendship is built over the punctuality of replies? I don’t care if it takes a month to write back, it’s the words that matter. So you don’t have to apologize amigo.
The scent is mesmerizing. Beautiful. May you be equally well and inspired.
Sending you the softest of cello notes under the crimson of the rising moon. Enjoy.

      2. “Oh come on. You really think this friendship is built over the punctuality of replies?” You got me here. I hope not.
Aw… “the softest of cello notes under the crimson of the rising moon.” That’s so beautiful. Thank you so much….. The cello notes fathom the rising moom. Can you see it? Can you hear it?
        xoxo…

      3. Oh, thank you so much. Are the ballerians still there? Do they look like Degas’ ballerinas?

      4. The ballerinas may have danced away with the night, sunlight’s golden fingers brace me now. Care to join me?

      5. How beautiful. Yes I do. I need to figure out where you are 😊

      2. I’m doing everything right, but it’s no use. Dr broke some bad news last time, so there’s a chance it might even get worse. I’m having another MRI tomorrow so I’ll know more after it. Cross your fingers for me.

      3. Bo, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Please make sure you update me when you can.
        Love
        G.

      4. Hey dear,

I just had an MRI. It’s not what they thought it was (some chronic condition), which is a relief, but there’s inflammation of the bone, which isn’t good. I’m seeing my orthopedist tomorrow to see what that actually means. Today’s doctor was pretty inarticulate. I hate that.

      5. Bo, thank you for letting me know. It must be nerve-racking but please hang in there. When you can let me know what the doctor says. My fingers are crossed.
        Love
        G.

    1. Oh, your comment is so lovely. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May you have a magnificent week ahead.

    1. Ay….. My forever fabulous Rachel, how I waited for your words. Today I thought a lot about you. And here you are. Rachel, I wish I could rain on you all the love in the world. I wish all flowers will serenade you and the spring that comes in the southern hemisphere will whisper words of love to you every night. I miss you sweetheart and I am worried about you. That is all I will say here.
Am I well? Not really. I wake up with a sense of dread every morning and I do not know why. I go to bed with the same sense of dread. But not tonight. Tonight I will let the light from the southern cross to shine on me. Tonight I am happy you wrote. Tonight I am a bridge over the oceans.
Rachel, may you be loved forever. May you be well. May you be protected. Waiting to hear more from you.
      With all my heart
      G.

      1. I am here honey, you and your poetry are forever in my heart. This reply is like the spring blossom blowing in my window and landing in my hair. You are the spring sunshine that breaks through the rain. You are the bridge across the oceans, and you allow me to come and meet you in my dreams. I am sorry you feel this sense of dread sweetheart, I wish I could take it from you. Is it a late summer feeling do you think, the lower sun and longer shadows, the hint of change in the air? I’m glad you will see the light from the southern cross tonight, I hope it graces your cheeks and takes the dread from your heart.
I am doing ok, I promise. Sending love my dear G xxx

      2. Rachel, thank you so much for your loving and beautiful reply.
“Is it a late summer feeling do you think, the lower sun and longer shadows, the hint of change in the air?” No, sweetheart. It’s still very hot here. The day are shorter but nothing else changed. I don’t know what it is.
“I hope it graces your cheeks and takes the dread from your heart.” It will. It comes from you!
“I am doing ok, I promise” I hope so hon.
I got your love. Sending you more my beautiful Rachel.
