Moonlight Love #poem #prose poem #short prose #poetry collection #reviews

Bones, blood, flesh trapped in a brilliant moonlight.

The sand of the shore carried faraway by translucent tongues of water.

Around me the mint grows taller than the trees; lassitude turning from gold to red.

Eyes become the locus where the desert and the sea meet.

Imprinted on my body the number twelve; the twelve horses of the sun-chariot.

He, the seller of time, looks at me.

His voice penetrates the membranes of my cells.

One hour of impossible love for two dimes.

I, who can foresee the future, buy.

The hour wraps around my hips like a passion vine around a tree.

For a second you, the lover of the visible world, hesitate.

Streets inundated by the sweet smell of citrus.

Arms hugging a void.

You cannot eat that citrus and you cannot touch me.

Moonlight love, remind me, why did I buy you?

  2. This is absolutely marvellous my dear Gabriela. Just….WOW!

“Bones, blood, flesh trapped in a brilliant moonlight.
The sand of the shore carried faraway by translucent tongues of water.”
You captivate from the very start. I don’t have words…..

“You cannot eat that citrus and you cannot touch me.
Moonlight love, remind me, why did I buy you?”
Splendid. Superb. I was in another land, I was carried away by your words. Bravo.

    Lots of love and hugsπŸ€—πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸŒΉ

    1. Ah, my dearest Ishita, you are a sweetheart. Thank you so much for your magnificent comment. Your words bring so much joy in my life. May you have a marvelous rest of the week. May you be blessed.
Lots of love and huga right back to you.

      1. If it is better today than yesterday it’s good. If tomorrow is better than today I am happy.

    1. Thank you so much Timothy. I am glad you liked it. We are fine thank you. Maya cooperates now. How is everyone? I gather the kitties are ok. Did you see the owls lately?

      1. The kitties are all doing well. I’ve been seeing daddy owl. Other people report sightings of the owlets. We occasionally hear them. The two owlets have expanded their range much more than owlets in years past. Might be because there were only two owlets this year. Also, I have seen as many owls in general, so they might be spreading out because of competition for food.

      2. You saw daddy owl! What’s going to happen now? When are you going to see new owlets? In the spring?

      3. I though so. I have to be patient. Thank you Timothy. Sending hugs.

    1. Thank you so much Ingrid. It means a lot to me you liked it. This is a new piece. It’s not from Passions. I hope it will be part of my second collection. How soon I can do a second poetry collection it remains to be seen.
Take care, Ingrid. I hope you enjoy your new home πŸ™‚

      1. Oh sorry I didn’t realise as I haven’t finished Passions yet! But you should definitely do a second collection and include this. I need to work on my first…

      2. That’s ok, do not worry about. It’s my fault. I did not make it clear. I am looking forward to reading you first collection πŸ™‚
        xoxo

    1. Thank you. I am glad you are enjoying it. Actually you have to wait till tonight πŸ™‚
      xoxo

    1. Good morning Drew. Bustelo? Remember the good days? Where did they go? πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am thrilled you enjoyed the piece. It means a lot.
May you have a beautiful week too and a fabulous tomorrow.
      Yours
      G.

      1. Smiling. This was one of theose morning where the blood pressure was exactly where it should be. Thus, it was Bustelo-less today. Where did the good old days go?
Don’t go getting me all nostalgic now.

Please, take good cafe of yourself. The world needs more of you. 🌹

      2. I am glad you are ok today. That makes me happy. I don’t want to get you nostalgic. Problem is I am nostalgic.
Take good care of you too. The world needs YOU. Thank you for the rose. It’s fragrance is intoxicating.

      3. Hmmm.
I remember a time when we were first getting to know one another. You questioned me about my devotion to romantic love and my dreamy ways.
You definitely gave we an impression of a woman not interested in those
frivolous things. I quietly concluded my friend had her feet firmly planted in reality and she didn’t believe in the romantic side of love and the possibility of forever.
Well, after years of reading you, I know there is love and romance in your heart. You couldn’t write the way you do. Yes, dare I say, you probably dream, too. (He shudders). You are a romantic my dear friend.
You admitting to feeling nostalgic confirms it. And I will be honest. I read that message late last night and it warmed my heart.
My dear friend, you don’t write beautiful poetry, you leaves (huellas) prints.
Only a romantic can do that.
Hope, I don’t offend you with this little revelation.

Be well Amiga. I hope the day fills your heart with everything you desire.
        xo

      4. Hmmm.
“You questioned me about my devotion to romantic love and my dreamy ways.” Did I? I remember objecting to the phrase “eternal love” in one of your writing, but… Oh, it’s more than that. I think I understand what you are saying. I disagree with you but I understand you.
Drew, your revelation does not offend me. It surprises me a bit. That’s so much to say here. Binary logic: romantic vs firmly grounded; beautiful vs intelligent; etc.. stereotypes that a patriarchal society has created when it comes to women. And somebody who writes mostly about love but is not interested in “romantic” love. Ok…..
Anyway, thank you so much for being honest Drew. That means a lot to me.
And thank you for your compliment.
“you don’t write beautiful poetry, you leaves (huellas) prints.” That’s so gorgeous. Thank you again. Look for me in the air around you. I sometimes leaves prints; the scent of Rose de Grasse d’Or.

Have a beautiful day my dearest Drew and thank you again for being you. I pray everything is ok.
        Be loved
        G.

      5. Smiling through tears. Things have been hard here. Things are deteriorating faster than we had first anticipated.

Perhaps, that is the reason I was incoherent or being a silly sentimental. Trust me, everything was meant to be as beautiful as your poetry.

Have to drive for some tests. Be well my precious friend.
        ❀

      6. You are scaring me Drew. When you have time could you write me two lines and let me know what’s going on? I am thinking about you. Yesterday I was depressed (it happens rarely) and I still thought about you.
        besos y abrazos
        G.

    1. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Rene. I am so glad you liked it.
I hope you are well sweetheart. Sending you love.
      xoxo

  3. I am well. I heard from two editors so far. I hope the 3rd one gets back to me as she would be the one I would go for for obvious reason that she would have a connection to the book. This all came in my emails today. I feel hopeful again. Let’s hope this will be a turning point for publications. I am pleased you are doing well.

    1. I am happy for you Joseph. I really am. I hope everything turns out the way you want. Keeping my fingers crossed. I can’t wait to read your book. Take care and please keep me updated.

  4. Your magic and beauty are weaved throughout this composition. From the luxurious imagery to the evocative wonder and hope. A stunning world to chase love in. Well written, my friend! 🌹

    1. Brad, thank you so much. I needed your beautiful words today. Well, it’s almost tomorrow πŸ™‚
      Have a wonderful Tuesday.
      G.

  5. Dearest Beautiful Button, this new poem simply must go in your next book of poetry in progress. It is splendid. One is reduced to a one syllable word at first – Wow! Then you read it several more times taking in each and every line. Savoring the visuals that are becoming painted in your head.

I simply love the painting you chose by Liliya Kulianionak, I don’t think you could find a better image to accent this amazing piece.

Again, your ability to transport us to a different world with your use of symbolism and metaphors is sublime. The chariot taking us to many places centuries ago.

I truly love this gorgeous piece. My favorite lines are:

β€œThe sand of the shore carried faraway by translucent tongues of water”. β€œEyes become the locus where the desert and sea meet”. β€œThe hour wraps around my hips like a passion vine around a tree”. β€œArms hugging a void”.

Such a treat this morning-thank you Button. Sending you thanks in the way of vines filled with dancing fairies πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ the vines are decorated with unique thimbles, hand painted so don’t forget to place them there at bedtime. Love β€οΈπŸ€—πŸŒΈπŸ§šβ€β™€οΈπŸ§šβ€β™€οΈyou honeybun.

    1. My dearest honeybun, thank you so much for your magnificent comment. Your words and kindness bring so much gratefulness in my heart. I am thrilled you like those lines. Thank you for reading and commenting on my posts all the time.
Oh, and thank you for the vines filled with dancing fairies. That is such a beautiful gift. I will not forget. How could I?
Sending you love and blessing. Praying that your day will be fantastic.
      G(Button)

      1. Thank you sweet Button. Your poem was amazing. I keep adding to my favorites list. It is my treat to read your work. I should probably say less but I am a wordy person who says what is on her mine. Thank you for your well wishes and sweet prayers my dear friend. I am sending love πŸ’• glad the fairies made it. Don’t forget to feed them or you can read your poetry to them they prefer that to food. Love ❀️ honeybun πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈπŸ§šβ€β™€οΈπŸ§šβ€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸ’–

      2. Oh, I will feed them. Don’t worry about. Thank you again for everything. You are a wonderful soul honeybun.

  7. Dear Gabriela, you did it again….what a marvelous piece you’ve written….”You cannot eat that citrus and you cannot touch me.
Moonlight love, remind me, why did I buy you?”….you reach crazy depths….you always have that WOW factor….sighing….keep writing such beautiful lines & keep shining dearest G ❀️✨

    1. My dearest Navin,
Thank you so much for your beautiful words and for your love. I am so glad you enjoyed my poem.
Navin, I can see and read your new posts but I cannot like or comment on them unless you like one of my posts. This is coming from my side and you are not the only one. I need to talk to WP. It will take me three hours to make them understand what is going on. I think I will tape myself navigating my site to show them what is not working right and send them a movie instead of a bullet point list. It should be better like this.
I hope everything is ok with you. Sending you plenty of love and hugs.
I am in my way to your site.
      Yours
      G.

      1. Ay….I lost you on the notification bar. Too many people liked my post. I cannot get to you anymore. I will try again from my email.

      2. Dearest Gabriela, I really hope WP can resolve your issue….it’s a good idea to capture your screen & send them a video….otherwise their happiness engineers would make you unhappy with their not so useful solutions. Much love β€οΈπŸ’–

    1. Thank you so much Shantanu. I am glad you enjoyed the piece. I hope you are well πŸ’•

  8. A very good poem, imaginative without a break in the rhythm or loss of fluidity. Your economy of words offers the balance that keeps you involved throughout. Chapeau…!

    1. My dear Jean-Jacques, thank you so much for your beautiful comment. I am honored and humbled by your words.
Je te remercie du fond de mon cΕ“ur πŸ™‚

  9. Ops… Forgot to mention the worthiness of the image by image: Liliya Kulianionak… great image by the artist, and perfect choice for your poem’s intro.

    1. My Dearest Irina,
Thank you for beautiful words. They brighten my morning.
May you have a lovely rest of the day.

    1. Thank you so much Christine. I am so glad you liked that line. Sending you lots of love.
