dark love #poem #poetry collection #review

green, you smell with your tongue
your thoughts pollinate mine
your fingers endanger the sailors
a water which opens its lips and drinks them
ah, hour of man
when did you become the hour of horrors?
a book cover reads: Dictionary of Superstitions
I see the girl who tears out the heart of the pigeon
white feathers and blood spasm under the moon
the man she loves will marry her
in the street of the tall Cyprus trees and small mandarins
we meet
you give me a pigeon blood ruby
superstition,
I think of dying
dying without you knowing me
I touch with my cheeks the walls that you touched
adrenalized you think of me
your skin calls my name

love
dark love
with pins in his heart the pigeon still flies

  1. Absolutely magnificent poem!!! 😍😍

I send you a very big hug full of affection and much love!!! 😘🤗❤️💕🌹🌹🌹

    1. Thank you so much Ely. You are a sweetheart. Love and hugs right back to you.
      xoxoxo
      Oh, I forgot.. and roses.

  2. Oh wow. This is amazing. It’s very dark and mystifying in theme, very similar to twentieth century and modernist poetry, with touches of romanticism. This is so powerful and moving; each description is just superb. I loved reading this very much. This is a poem I will need to read again and again to fully wrap my head around it. There’s so much to analyze and grasp in each verse and metaphor.

Long story short, is it hard to tell that I absolutely loved this? 😁Excellent work yet again, my friend. Keep writing and inspiring with your beautiful words.

    1. My dearest Lucy, thank you from the bottom of my heart for every word. You humbled me beyond. I am thrilled you liked the piece and deeply grateful for your read and for your analysis. I don’t know what else to say. You took my breath away.
Thank you! May the rest of your day be magical. may happiness be with you my talented friend.
      Love
      G.

  3. Gabriela, I’m spellbound. This has left me breathless. The metaphors, sweetheart, your metaphors!!😘❤

    “your thoughts pollinate mine
    your fingers endanger the sailors.”

“I see the girl who tears out the heart of the pigeon
White feathers and blood spasm under the moon.”

I have no words. This is absolutely gorgeous. Magnificent❤💖💖💕🌹

Sending you lots of love, hugs, blessings and flowers🌹🌺🌸🌸
    Ishita🌹💕

    1. Thank you so much for your marvelous comment Ishita. My turn not to find the right words to express my gratitude for your support and my admiration for your work.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your magnificent words will stay with me.
      Love and hugs
      G.

      1. Oh, sweetheart, I am grateful too. You are a gem.
        xoxoxoxo

  4. Well dear beautiful Button you turn us upside down with this wild, provocative, and mysterious piece. Your words are magical, I read them to my sweetie and his vocabulary is reduced to “Wow” and mine as well.

Gorgeous the beginning of this piece which starts the journey and then the introduction of the book which takes us down another path and the ending which is truly wonderfully crafted. I am in awe! Also grateful we got to read the whole piece.

Congratulations on another wonderful review my dear Button.

Sending you buckets of hugs and love to last for days. Yours, honeybun ❤️💕💖💖🤗

    1. Honeybun, you are too sweet. You are a talented and wonderful soul. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful words. I am blessed to have your support and your friendship.

Thank you for the congrats too. Sending you flowers and freshly baked cookies. I hope you like them.
      Love. Love. Love
      G (Button)

      1. Oh, thank you for the cookies sweet Button. My favorites chocolate chip and magnolias. Their smells have already brightened our day. Love 💕 to you dear Button. Yours, honeybun ❤️💕🌹🌹

      2. It is my pleasure, honeybun. I am glad they are your favorite. I sent them with all my love.
I actually baked cookies yesterday. They came out very good. I tried baking bread too. That was not a good idea 🙂
        Have a marvelous day.
        Hugs and love
        G (Button)

      3. You are so sweet. I love fresh baked cookies. I have a bread maker and it is the only way to make fresh bread it is wonderful and it times everything so you don’t have to worry about how long to let it rise etc. I have found baking is not a good idea as I have gained five lbs. I made a two layer German chocolate cake and it was gone in two days. I am going to imagine eating your chocolate chip cookies because I won’t gain weight from those.

Thank you so much and sending fairies to sing you to sleep tonight but they like cookies too, so be sure to share. Love 💕 honeybun

      4. ” I made a two layer German chocolate cake and it was gone in two days.” Oh, Joni, if I were there it would have been gone in one day. You are right. Baking is not a good idea. I gain some pounds too.
Thank you for the fairies. We will eat cookies under the moon tonight.
        Love you

  5. Oh my ! I swooned reading this. It’s beautifully beautiful beautiful wonderful verse.. you you have outdone yourself , G.

    1. Aw.. here is my Queen of poetry. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful words. I am so glad you liked the piece Yassy. Sending you love and blessings.

  6. Not being all that “expert” with poetry or even talking about it, I may not have the “right” vocabulary to describe your work properly. Let me just say that I find your work amazing. This poem, to me, seems like Nora Roberts meets William Shakespeare meets Edgar Allen Poe. I love it.

    1. Aw… Darren, your beautiful words brought me to my knees. They brought tears in my eyes. I am humbled and honored by your praise. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I do not know what else to say. Wishing you a wonderful day.
      Yours
      G.

    1. You are too much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart my dearest and talented friend.
      xoxo

    1. Thank you Eric. I can tell you how I do it but it should be a private conversation 🙂
Till then I owe you some words.
Pubs are open. How is everything going?

      1. A conversation worth having my friend. You’ll be surprised to hear it’s been raining a for few days in England, hard to believe I know! I got bitten by a tiny tick on Monday urgent need of antibiotics by Wednesday – on the way to healing now! Typing with an ice pack on the swelling – got to get that story finished!

      2. I am so sorry to hear that Eric. I am glad you are feeling better. Good luck. Do you have a deadline?

      3. Do I have a deadline – end of August – its catching up with me! Take care out there – as with ticks it’s not the big stuff its the little stuff that gets you! The pigeons in my garden should have got to it before it got to me – still I guess they a little preoccupied… being in your words.

      4. Good luck again Eric. The pigeons want to fly away. They don’t want to stay in my words 🙂 They want to be with you.

    1. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words.
      xoxo
      Gabriela

    1. Aw.. thank you so much Isha. You brighten my day. Sending you love and hugs.

    1. Thank you Bo. It means a lot.

I am writing and writing and writing a long comment to you last post. I am going to back to 1999 – you know why I went back to 1999 – and after that I realized there was no post. Anyway I was sorry to hear that things are so bad. Sending you lots of love.
Please let me know how you feel.

      1. I read a post about the current situation in Serbia. I wrote a reply but I could not post it. I refreshed and I did not see your post anymore. Did you take it down?

      2. Oh, ok. That happens when I repost a post, that is reschedule it. First you temporarily store it into drafts, which is why you can’t see it online a couple minutes.

  7. A hint of dark and your verse is as delicious as dark chocolate! Just when I think I have read your best, you top it with another amazing verse. Gabriela, much love. 🌷❤️🤗

    1. I don’t know about my verses but your words are really delicious. Thank you from the bottom of my heart sweetheart. Sending you plenty of love and hugs.
      xoxo

  8. I have been a silent follower Gabriela for a while and i really adore your metaphores and imagery…
And this one by far tops my list of favorites.

    1. Aw.. thank you from the bottom of my heart for the praise and for your kindness. I am so glad you liked this piece.
      Sending you plenty of hugs.
      Love
      G.

    1. Aw.. Katy.. thank you so much. You are such a sweetheart 🌹🤗💕🌸❤️

  9. Good afternoon G,

A dark vivid piece with strong images that dazzle. Rich with potent images you painted. Hopefully, not lost to your readers is the heroine’s strong fear of “dying without you knowing me.” This dark, perhaps uncertain love (since he became the hour of horrors) continues ro live, for even with pins in his heart, the pidgeon still flies.

Your dark piece still left us with hope. And sometimes that is all we need.

A beautiful piece, so illuminating in its darkness.
    Bravo Amiga.

    1. Good morning Drew,
      Sorry for my late reply.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful words. I am delighted by your interpretation. Well… I meant the hour of mankind… No “he” became the hour of horrors …but the interpretation of my readers is king…
“illuminating in its darkness.” I like this Drew. Thank you for this words.
I hope everything is well with you.
May you have a beautiful weekend filled with all the love you deserve.
      Yours
      G.

      1. Apologies for my late response. I have avoided my blog like the plague. (Oh. I am afraid that phrase is not very appropriate these days).

Ah, “the hour of mankind.” How interesting. Your words always mean so much more than the surface illustrates. The stubborn right side of my brain is always thinking of love, thus my interpretation. Perhaps, my affliction could be cured with a lobotomy. (it would probably be easier just reading your beautiful poetry).

I hope my reply find your well and with a lovely smile on your face. Even in these times of social unrest and pandemic fears, we need to find the time to to be happy. Please stay safe and be well.

My best to you and yours Amiga. xo

      2. My Dearest Drew,
No need to apologize. Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
“The stubborn right side of my brain is always thinking of love.” Nothing wrong with that 🙂 Trust me.
“I hope my reply find your well and with a lovely smile on your face. Even in these times of social unrest and pandemic fears, we need to find the time to to be happy. Please stay safe and be well.” That’s so sweet of you Drew. I am trying. I hope you are trying too. And I hope you feel great.
        Wishing you a marvelous day.
        Abrazos.
        G.

  10. Wonderful G. This one tops the list of some of your most meaningful poems. Absolutely beautiful. Love the little bit of darkness. Almost cryptic, if I may! Way to go! Peace and greetings from Sui generis 💛💛
    Yours,

  12. Imaginary in the poetry is just like the silence of a darkness!! But when the darkness is not blind and silence is screaming with choked breaths this is what i feel after reading this poem!
