My Dear Readers,

My poem – Love Numbers – published by Free Verse Revolution.

You used to identify the beating of my heart according to the phases of the moon.

We laid in the grass, shadows of poppies playing on our faces with the same rhythmicity of the waves on tranquil days.
At times we could feel the pulse of the new grains.
The line of my décolleté – as you used to say – nothing else but the demarcation between inexorable sins and…

  2. Just when I thought how can you mesmerize me any more then you have already done with you poetry here and in your book you publish this, dearest Button. I am wonderfully enchanted, taken to the field of poppies and seeing this love through your eyes and the others. “You used to identify the beating of my heart according to the phases of the moon.
The tonalities of my voice were symbolized by the heaviness of wheat in any given year.” These lines are so extraordinarily creative I am stunned. I truly believe there will be college class rooms one day full of students studying and writing books about your use of every word. The same as with Shakespeare. I know you are modest, so forgive me if I embarrass you with this praise, but I only say what I believe to be true. Love and hugs dear friend. Honeybun

    1. Joni, my dearest, I do not know what to say. It’s too much to take in.
However, honeybun, I can certainly thank you for your marvelous support and for your friendship. They mean a lot to me. I am touched by your generosity as I am touched by your beautiful poetry. I still have to read your most recent posts. I am going to do that during the weekend. I actually can’t wait.
Sending you love and wishing you a blessed weekend.
      xoxo

      1. Dear Gabriela, I always like to have beautiful books on my coffee table ( why hide everything in the book case?) some are too gorgeous and the perfect distraction From the worries we all face and your book is one of those. Thank you for the love and hugs , sending it back in bouquets 💐

      2. Rene, I am so touched by your comment sweetheart. It’s a really beautiful and humbling comment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🤗💕🌸❤️🌺🌿💐

    1. Congratulations and thank you again for the nomination. I tried to like the post and comment on your site but it does not work. I will certainly try again in several hours.
      xoxo

  6. Gabriela, this is so beautifully written, it is lyrical. I read it aloud and it feels like it is made for that – your use of words that are so subtly but wondrously made for each other. Also, I love the ending

“How many were buried beneath our passion or by our passion?
Should we have counted us in?”

I think passion like that could both bury or liberate. Whichever way, it most certainly needs to be counted.

    Wow. Magnificent. Like you.
    Xoxoxoxo

    1. My fabulous and beautiful Rachel,
You just brighten my vacation more. Thank you so much for your magnificent words.
“I think passion like that could both bury or liberate. Whichever way, it most certainly needs to be counted.” I love this. I really do. If it most certainly needs to be counted I will do it. I am listening to my wonderful Rachel.
I hope it’s not too clod on our shore; the one on which someday we will walk together.
I did not send you baskets filled with lavender in a long time. Sending plenty of them and plenty of love.
      xoxo

  7. Congratulations, Beautiful Gabriela!!! My GOD. A new language needs to be developed for how much I love Your poetry. I keep repeating myself. This is beyond…..You melted my heart, brought tears to my eyes and took me so many directions. And I just read Your poem ‘Fires’ before coming here. I read it twice through….very slowly. I have never read a book of poetry so slowly….not even Hafiz….who is one of my favorites of all time. But Your poems are like houses to visit. They are so full and complex. I want to let them linger on their own before reading the next. And they shapeshift depending on my mood or what’s going on in my life. I love when You post a poem You’ve shared before and it hits me a whole new way. What a most wonderful gift!!! THANK YOU!!! Hugs and Cheers! 🤗❤️😊

    1. My Dearest Katy,
You humbled me beyond words. For a moment, after reading your comment, I was breathless. Your kindness opened new venues of gratitude in my soul. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
“not even Hafiz…” I am honored.
“And they shapeshift depending on my mood or what’s going on in my life.” This means the world to me. Everything you wrote means the world to me, Katy.
I am sending you an ocean of thanks, love, and gratitude.
      xoxo
      G.
