My poem “the world of our making” up at Spillwords, and translated in Romanian by Virginia Mateias

I am thrilled that my poem “the world of our making” was published by Spillwords Press [here], and it was translated in Romanian by Virginia Mateias. Virginia entitled the poem: “În lumea clădită de noi.” Her gesture touched my heart deeply.

Virginia Mateias is a poet and a journalist who lives in Montreal, Canada. Her most recent poetry book “In the Shadow of the Angel” received excellent reviews. “In the Shadow of the Angel” will be available on Amazon soon.

Below please find the English version (as published by Spillwords) and Virginia’s translation in Romanian.

My book, Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings, can be ordered here.
Thank you.

  2. This is one of my favorites beautiful Button. I remember the first time I read this poem it touched my heart so deeply. “I see the little girl who lives inside the world of withered roses and plasticine the world of our making cries” “on her cheeks two tears pantomime a waltz” how could you forget a line like that. So lovely to have your poetry translated by a poet in another language. What a blessing. Well it certainly got a five star vote from this reader. Congratulations on another brilliant piece. Love 💕 you Button. 😘honeybun

    1. Thank you so much Bo. Virginia is wonderful. Actually she decided to translate Passions (the entire book). According to my publishing contact one year after the publication of Passions I can publish any other types of editions: translation, by-lingual.. etc. So I am really grateful to Virginia. I can’t wait to see her book on Amazon. She is a splendid poet.

Rene, I don’t tweet to often – I don’t have time- but is it my imagination or the expression “spreading love” – which melts my heart- is more used on Twitter?

on her cheeks two tears pantomime a waltz”….❤️💜

  6. Tears on my cheeks, Gabriela. Oh the pain we all have endured and your words deeply ever so deeply, touched my wounds with a prick and gasp. I’m not sure I can even put into words how emotional your poem got me. Oh how I grieve for the world that was. Oh how I yearn to be human again. Powerful reflection …. powerful movement …. powerful soul! Wow!

    1. My Dearest Amy,
I do hurt as you do and as millions of us do. We all have endured plenty of pain. I wish I could make your pain go away sweetheart. Unfortunately I don’t have those powers. But you have the power to do it. It’s the power of your beautiful soul. I am sure you will heal and the magic you exult will heal others. I pray that we all will be human again soon.
In fact I know we will. I think your soul knows that too.
May you have a beautiful weekend. May the beauty and the magic of the summer flowers be with you.
      Love and hugs sweetheart.

      1. I believe that globally we together will heal our pains, Gabriela. We’ve had enough of isolation and being prevented to be with those we want to be with. People I believe will be reaching out to others a lot more. Many, NOT all.
It turned muggy and rainy here so I am focusing on those things I can do inside my home. I’ve yet to go for my walk which I also plan on doing. I love walking in the rain. Much love to you!! xoxoxo

  7. sau asta:
In the tower of the old church
    the bell rings softly
It’s Saturday night, the moon is ending
and I see the little girl again.
    🙂

    1. Helllo B. It’s great I know. In my poetry book there are poems translated in Italian by Flavio Almerighi. I am plenty excited about that. This one adds to my excitement too.
Sending you love, hugs, and best wishes for the weekend 💕

      1. Thank you so much sweetheart. You are very kind. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and much love to you too.

  8. My mind is blown by the poem, it’s exquisite. I’d also like to translate it if I could 💜💜🌼. This is brilliant and congrats on inspiring a translation Gabriella

    1. Hello my dear friend. Thank you for the praise. It melts my heart. I am thrilled and honored you want to translate it. That will be fantastic. I will make a post like this one and you can put it on your site too. Yay. I am excited. Let me know how you want to proceed and thank you again.
      Gabriela

      1. For “Pantomine” she used the verb ” to imitate” in the Romanian translation. Plasticine must be in every language – it’s a modelling clay that mostly children play with. You could use clay or whatever you want to suggest something that children play inside with.

  9. Congratulations Beautiful Gabriela, for both!!! This poem slays me. Absolutely shattered my heart and leaves an ache. So well done. Crystal clear everything. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. My Dearest Katy, you are so sweet. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the congrats and for your beautiful words.

    1. Aw… Thank you so much my dear. I am happy to have you as a friend. Sending you love and hugs.

  11. Hey Gabriela, being an aspiring poet and author, I really wanted to know how to get a target audience and make my blogs reach out to more people. Would really love and be thankful if you would like to take a few minutes out to guide me. Also, did you took up blogging after becoming successful author and getting published or the other way..? Would be thankful for your advice and if you share your experience…!

    1. Sweetheart, I had three published novels (not in English) when I took up blogging. However, when I started I did not say that I was a published author or anything like that. I started blogging under a pen name. I decided to take up blogging after a very traumatic event that happened in my life. I did not tell anyone I was blogging. I started from the scratch: no friends, no followers. Nobody knew me. I was alone. I was not a success. Most bloggers I tried to connect with ignored me. I was not lecturing others on how to do things. I was not showing off my knowledge. I was simply writing poetry. It never crossed my mind that one day I will become a published poet. Slowly, very slowly, compared to other bloggers, I started getting followers. I was grateful to each and one of them. I still am. One day one publisher came to my blog and asked for some poems to publish. Another day another publisher came via my blog too and ask for the same thing. This is how my poetry journey started. Even today I rarely submit. Usually publishers pick up posts from my blog and publish them. I ended up by publishing a poetry book with a publisher that I admire tremendously. The WP community started to gave me a lot of love. I guess it’s about love, honesty, talent, and hard work.
There will be detractors too. There will be difficult moments. You have to keep going. Be nice. Be honest. Be yourself. Work hard. You will be successful. There are a lot of great people on WP who will support you.
Sorry, for any typos or grammar mistakes i may have made. I am chatting with WP. Something is wrong with my blog and we are trying to fix it. I hope this helps. Much love to you
      Gabriela

      1. Thank you so much dear! I am really inspired by your story! You indeed deserve to be where you are today! Your struggles are worth it. I am really greatful for your advice. Looking forward to read more of your content and do guide me regarding my blogs in future! Much thanks!❤️
        Love,
        Swagata

      2. Anytime sweetheart. Have a beautiful day ahead.

        Gabriela

    1. Aw… Victoria, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sending you huge hugs.

  12. Congratulations my friend! It’s such a fantastic thing to know that your delicious poetry will be read in other languages too.
As for the poem, it has that charm that cannot be forgotten.
Withered roses and plasticine….that’s a stark pair of metaphors, but they hit hard. You just have so many gems in these older posts my friend and I am happy to be unraveling them…

    1. Thank you so much Shanyu. You are so kind to take time to read my work. I am very grateful to you. I don’t know what else to say. You always touch my heart so thank you again.
Have a beautiful Sunday my friend.
      xoxo
