My book – Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings – was published.

Thank you to all my followers who’ve supported me. I wish I could make the sky rain blessings on all of you. I wish I could heal all wounds with my words. I wish I could send you a rose hidden in whispers of love every day.
I will try. I will never give up. You’ve showed me love. I’ll return your love. Every day I’ll try to give you more than I take. That’s my promise to you.
Yours
Gabriela

Shiver (a poem from my book)

A full moon weeps cold fragrant oil on my face.
Shiver.
The cicadas’ song penetrates the membranes of the space.
On one of my arms a purple mark sighs and then falls asleep.
Looking for prey a snake’s tongue splits the time in two.
I feel the bite.
You.

Passions: Love Poems and Other Writings contains new poems, poems published in various venues, and a few excerpts from my manuscript “Glass Lovers.”

  2. Yea!! Such a blessing you are Button. What a lovely thank you to your readers. Congratulations again we are very excited for your book to arrive. Your poem “Shiver” takes my breath away. “On one of my arms a purple mark sighs and then falls asleep.” Such incredible imagination and words that allow our minds to visualize such things. Like opening a magic window. So lovely. Have a wonderful, blessed and safe day Button. Love 💕 Joni

    1. Good morning Joni. Thank you for the congrats and for the support. Thank you for letting me know that the paperback was out yesterday. You are fantastic. I am trying to catch up.
Oh, I am so glad you liked the poem. “Like opening a magic window.” Those words are so humbling.
Have a blessed day honeybun and thank you for everything.
      G (button)

  3. I love the eroticism of the poem you have included here, Gabriela. That “you”, is wonderful. I have purchased your book and look forward to reading it. Best wishes, Kevin

    1. Kevin, you melt my heart. You are a great poet and a true friend. I am beyond grateful for everything you’ve done for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Have a lovely day and enchant us with your gorgeous poems.
      Be well, Kevin.

      1. Thank you so much for your lovely reply, Gabriela. You also, stay safe and well and enjoy your week. Its lovely and sunny here in the UK. Kevin

      2. My pleasure Kevin. Yes, I heard that it’s sunny. Kevin,I visited the UK many times in summers. I did not see a drop of rain. I was disappointed that I did not experience the famous English fog. Does it exist? 🙂
Enjoy the lovely weather and thank you again.
        G.

      3. It certainly rains a good deal in Swansea, as I know from experience, having attended university there. The university is on the coast, hence the rain I think! As for the fog, it certainly exists in the Sherlock Holmes stories! To be serious, I have experience the fog, which can have it’s own distinct smell, particularly in London!

      4. Thank you for letting me know Kevin. It’s wonderful to learn more about you. I still have to experience that fog 🙂
Enjoy the rest of your day and say hello to Tiger.
        G.

      5. The plan was to do it this summer. But all plans are on hold now. I guess it will be next summer.

      6. I hope you will visit next year Gabriela. As for the fog, the next time it shows itself I shall bottle some up for you, and mail it as a present from England! You also, enjoy the rest of your day. Kevin

      7. “As for the fog, the next time it shows itself I shall bottle some up for you, and mail it as a present from England! ” I love that. It makes my morning.
        Thank you for everything Kevin.

  4. Congratulations. It was delivered to my Kindle yesterday as promised. I also ordered the paperback. Poems are not as romantic on Kindle.

    1. Good morning Timothy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and your kindness. I have to agree with you re: kindle vs. paperback. Say hello to the cats and the the little owls. I am going to check your site soon to see what other wonders you posted.
      Thank you again!

    1. Thank you so much, dear B. That’s very kind of you. I hope everything is well on your side.

  5. Congratulations! I am all too excited for this, and I know you must be as well.

The poem you posted has a wonderful dreamlike quality. Your work always brings the reader into a new reality, and yet the world the poems create is so deep and rich and that its truth cannot be denied. Marvellous, G!

    1. David, thank you so much. You know very well how much your comments mean to me. I am humbled by your praise and always grateful for your support. Happy you liked the poem.
I look forward to updates re: your book.
Have a lovely day and thank you again.
      G.

      1. You’re welcome, G. The praise is all well deserved. You know, of course, that the feeling is mutual.

In re: my book, I’m doing a little revision before I contact anyone else about it. There are still a few people I haven’t heard back from yet. Thank you for asking.

You have a lovely day, too.
        David

      2. Thank you again David. And thank you for updating me on your book. Good luck with the revisions and with everything else. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
        Have a lovely evening.
        G.

    1. Navin. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. I deeply appreciate it.
Have a wonderful rest of the day.

    1. Thank you so much Joseph. Looking forward to your book. Please update us when you have time.

      1. I can’t wait.
I am well Joseph. I hope you are too.
        Have a lovely day 🙂

  6. What thrilling news; I love the cover but I know the writing is where it is at.
I am curious to read the book now after reading ‘Shiver’. Is that the poem you feel sums up the book? 😜

    1. Thank you so much Java for your beautiful words. They mean a lot to me. I feel “Shiver” represents one of the voices with which I speak in the book. Other poems are more passionate. Others express sadness. Generally I would say Shiver is representative for about 60% -70% of the book’s content. That is why I featured it,
      xoxo

    1. Thank you so much Bo. You are such a wonderful friend. I am very grateful to you for your support. I hope you guys are well. B only in the home?

  7. Oh G…. now I can order my long awaited print version. I love this book, so much, even more than I could have imagined. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I cannot tell you enough times how much I love your writing.

Shivers… your words delivered the feeling of that moon, the cool air, and that bite…. amongst the sounds of cicadas. Gorgeous as always.

Hope your day is going well dear friend xoxoxox

    1. Rachel, I am humbled beyond words by your praise. Every time you write “I love this book so much” my heart beats faster. You are such an wonderful friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am so glad you liked “shiver” sweetheart.
I am doing well. Plenty of work. I hope you are doing well too.
What would you like me to send you?

      1. You really are the sweetest, and your gorgeous heart can beat away fast because I really love your book. M
        What can you send me…

Hmmm I’d really like a tea that I properly enjoy drinking. Something herbal… do you have any you like?

What can I send you. You know, I’d like to send you the song of New Zealand native birds, the tui and bellbird and our little piwakawaka (bellbird). The sound of the wings of the heavy kereru (wood pigeon), as it sweeps the air as it flies.

        😘 xoxox

      2. Oh, thank you again. Halo tea. Flowering white tea. Are you ok with that sweetheart?
“You know, I’d like to send you the song of New Zealand native birds, the tui and bellbird and our little piwakawaka (bellbird). The sound of the wings of the heavy kereru (wood pigeon), as it sweeps the air as it flies.”
Can I have all of these?
Rachel thank you so much for your support. It means a lot to me.
It’s night there. I hope you are sleeping well sweetheart.
        xoxoxoxo

      3. Flowering white tea sounds just amazing. Is halo a brand? I’ll send you all the bird song I can collect. And I managed to get you some light from the southern cross. I am sending that too – bird song at dawn, and southern cross at nightfall.

I know it won’t mean anything to you but piwakawaka is a fantail not bellbird. My mistake frustrates me!

Love and hugs to you gorgeous friend xoxoxo

      4. Hello my fabulous Rachel. I hope everything is well with you sweetheart. It is my understanding that halo is the name of some kind of plant coming from China.

“I’ll send you all the bird song I can collect. And I managed to get you some light from the southern cross.” Aw… thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rachel we need a poem about the Southern Cross. What we are going to do about this sweetheart?
“I know it won’t mean anything to you but piwakawaka is a fantail not bellbird.” Please do not say that. It means a lot to me because it means a lot to you.
Why do I feel like we did not talk in ages? I miss you. Everything ok with you Rachel?
Sending you plenty of love and the song of a nightingale.
        xoxoxo

      5. The song of a nightingale … I just looked it up so I could hear it. I’m not sure we have those here. I have to tell you, this was literally and metaphorically music to my ears. I feel calmer already. Maybe that was because I heard from you. I have been climbing the walls a little today, a full month of lockdown and I’m craving to be…. someplace else. Up until now I’ve mainly loved being at home. Not today. I have that closed in feeling. Even the beach is not calling to me this afternoon.

A poem about the southern cross…. I will file this away for use G, although, you have a little of it now, so perhaps that poem is yours?

I miss you too G. Tell me something about how you’re doing. Xoxoxo

      6. Hello my beautiful Rachel. I am so glad you liked the song of the nightingale. If I am not mistaken it was a common theme on the romanticism of continental Europe. I know less about English romanticism so I can’t really speak about.
“Maybe that was because I heard from you.” That’s so nice of you to say Rachel. You are talented and kind. Rachel, do you know you are a true princess?
“I have been climbing the walls a little today, a full month of lockdown and I’m craving to be…. someplace else” I am starting to feel the same.
“Up until now I’ve mainly loved being at home.” Shadows. I know what you’re saying.
“A poem about the southern cross…. I will file this away for use G, although, you have a little of it now, so perhaps that poem is yours?” You know I have to dig into my private posts. I may have several poems about the Southern Cross. Yeah, but so what? I do not want my poems 🙂
I’m ok Rachel. The usual. Nothing spectacular. It’s just that for the first time in a long time I miss people around me.
Sending you plenty of love sweetheart, and another nightingale song.
        xoxoxo

      7. Hello my dear G. It was because I heard from you that I felt better. I now know for certain because it just happened again when I read this.
Shadows… you are the same? I find myself wishing for a little normality, and structure. I crave being properly alone. You miss people… I guess I do too. I am tired of working through video conferencing. In my line of work it is just not the same as face to face. Plus, I have to work in the evenings now, so I get tired.

“I may have several poems about the Southern Cross. Yeah, but so what? I do not want my poems 🙂”
Ahh but you see dear G, I do, I want your poems very very much. If I were a princess I would make it a royal decree that I could see these poems. Although, I do have your book so I can comfort myself with that. I plan to spend some time with your book today.

Thank you for another nightingale song, it’s truly beautiful. I send you another Tui song http://static1.squarespace.com/static/560da7d7e4b0ffb1cd6e7c66/t/565c120be4b0702d38079973/1448872883883/TUI.mp3/original/TUI.mp3

I hope your Friday is going well, much love,
