My poem “the biblical sense of to know” published by Spillwords Press #poetry

the biblical sense of to know
born in a summer that never existed
nailed to the cross of your poems
I’m losing my mind inside the blue night
I reach you in dreams you do not understand
It hurts when I’m there….

During my two and a half years of blogging I’ve been nominated for numerous blogging awards. My most sincere thanks to everyone who nominated me. My life is extremely hectic. I deeply apologize for not being able to reply to your nominations.

      1. And it’s always a pleasure to have you here Wendi.
        Love and blessings to you.

  1. Good morning G,

This perhaps is one of your most emotional writes. Laced with powerful contrasts “it hurts when I am there, it hurts when I am not,” words that evoke a feeling of desperate longing. What a wonderful piece.

If WordPress had awards for different categories, no doubt you would win for best poet
    on this platform.

    Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.

    1. Good morning Drew.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the praise. It makes me blush, perhaps like the moon in one of your poems that you’ve never written.
You are such a great friend and I value your opinions very much.
” no doubt you would win for best poet
on this platform.” Here you are very kind Drew. That will be too much.
      two things:
      – I hope you got my comment to your most recent poem. I truly love that poem Drew.
      – I hope you feel great this morning.
I miss the mornings when we used to talk about your Bustello. But what can we do?
Have a beautiful day filled with inspiration.
      G.

      1. Oh, G, you made me smile.

I only state what needs to be said.
Two things? Yes, I received the gorgeous comment. I will be getting to it a little later. I had a little setback yesterday. The nurse said I overexterted myself at the beach over the weekend. Had dizzy spells all day yesterday. So I stopped blogging. Will get to it soon.

I very much miss the days where your poetry sweetened my morning coffee. I am almost at 4 months without coffee. Someday, I may have morning coffees, but not just yet. Now G, that doesn’t stop you from sweetening my days with your inspiring poetry.

Oh, blushiing moon is ready. But I think I will wait for Monday to post it. Thursday may be a photo post without comments, so I can rest.

Please stay inspired. Your inspirations are contagious. And it make WordPress and the world a more beautiful place.
        xo
        D

      2. Drew, I am so sorry you do not feel quite right. Please rest. Please be well so one day after your surgery is done, and when you will be 100%well we can talk again about Bustello.
Now rest. Post what you can. I can ‘t believe you really wrote a poem about a blushing moon. I did not mean to press you. Sorry if I did that.
Take care. Have a restful day.
        G.

      3. Professor, you didn’t press or stress, you just inspired and motivated. It must come naturally for you.

        I think you will approve.

I will take it easy. Thank you. Have an inspiring day

      4. Haha! Please don’t call me professor here. You can imagine I am tired of hearing that. But… I am sure I will approve. I can’t wait to read the poem.
        Rest… Relax…
Wishing you one of the most relaxing day ever.
        Yours
        G.

      5. You are forgiven. You were always forgiven. You got to give me that, Drew. That’s my way of saying to you I am one of your true friends.
        G.

      6. haha. A forgiving fighter.
I have no doubt of that G. Eres sincera.

Your support makes April easier. Now, if you could do something about my taxes, April will be a snap. Smiling

      7. Drew, I can do plenty of things, trust me. Taxes? Nooooo. I hired an accountant to do my taxes. And even so it feels like hell until I put all documents together. But if you are sick I guess I can give it a try .. 🙂

      8. Nly playing with you. I do my own. But it does give headaches. But the good news is, I am in Florida. No state or city taxes.

Have a good one. Hope I didn’t give you the start of a headache making you think of the IRS

      9. No, I’ve been thinking about taxes for quite a while. Don’t worry. The headaches are there anyway. Yeah, that was another reason for which I loved Florida.
You know if you post a picture I may post one too. This will be my first, but I hope my followers will enjoy it.

      10. I mentioned the taxes and Florida to tempt you. Have to find a way to get you there. lol

My pic. Nobody want to see that. It is not nearly as anticipated as yours.

      11. I’ll post a picture from last summer 🙂 Don’t worry you were in the Dominican Republic.
Nothing is more anticipated than a post of yours. i can’t compare myself with you, Drew.

      12. My dear everyone has seen my photo. You see me when you go to my blog.
I would never compare you and me. I never want to be your rival, Ms. Fighter. Laughing so hard.
        Calm down Beach Boy

      13. You are not my rival. What are you talking about? You and I are not living in an an anarchic world. No security dilemma involved here. We are friends.
And I am not a fighter. I am a lover. I changed my mind this morning at 7am.

      14. I think you were always a lover. Perhaps, a little combative at times. But writing like yours can only come from an amazing heart.

As for your photo. Don’t even need to see it. I know I post pics of beautiful women on my blog, but the Beach Boy looks beyond the surface. And you are gorgeous inside.

    1. I am really humbled and honored by your words. My most sincere thanks to you.
      Gabriela

      1. Aw…thank you again from the bottom of my heart. You are so good to me. I don’y know what else to say.
May you have a fabulous rest of the day.
        Gabriela

  2. You, again, weave diametric feelings together seamlessly. You push and pull on the heart at the same time. That is a unique and rare ability with words. Beautiful and provocative! Can you save me a seat at the “Spotlight on Writers” table? I finished my interview a few days ago and hope it will be published soon. I am following in the footsteps of one of my favorite writers, I hope.

    1. Oh, Brad thank you for your kind words and for the praise. You’ve been so good to me all along. And even if I made mistakes you stuck you me. This is rare and it does show the nobility of your character.
I am glad you finished your interview. Looking forward to reading it. One day you and I will sit face to face, have coffee and talk about poetry. What do you say?
Thank you for being you Brad.
      G.

  5. It’s evident from the outpouring of compliments that I’ve read here that your words touch people on many levels, Gabriela. You are a beacon here on WordPress.

    1. Aw… Rob, I do not know about being a beacon. I know that I love my followers., but thank you from the bottom of my heart for saying that.
BTW, am I missing something because I did nor see you posting any new song lately. Am I correct? You know how much I love your songs.

      1. If you go to the full version (not reader) of my blog, you can mouse over ‘The Recording Studio’ at the top of my blog and select my songs from there.

  6. Love has its nuances. If it appears in the verses and causes you restlessness, you are feeling it. The point is that they will understand you even in your dreams. As usual, his poems reach the soul due to their intensity. Superbly elaborated intense to cause mixed sensations. Reading it is a luxury. Greetings. Manuel

    1. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Manuel.
      tus palabras son hermosas.
      mil geacias.
      Gabriela

  8. You do wonderfully my dear. You interact with your readers and fans with grace and warmth. Your words itself are a welcome respite from the harsh world.

    1. Gina, thank you so much.
“Your words itself are a welcome respite from the harsh world.” That is all I can hope for. If I do that I am happy.
Have a beautiful day ahead, sweetheart.
      xoxo

  9. A summer that never existed, where nothing is certain, everything is questioned, and everything hurts. There is no escape, the pain is of biblical proportions. It’s exquisite. I cannot tell you how much I love every single line of this, the whole thing is like a prayer of desperation.

“nailed to the cross of your poems”
And I keep coming back to your ending

    “my fingers were naked
    my fingers were gloved”

This has to be one of my favourites. Is it possible to have too many favourites of yours? I mean, I wouldn’t want my other favourites to feel diminished due to numbers?

    Xoxoxo

    1. Thank you for such a wonderful comment, my dearest Rachel. I love you to the moon and back.
“Is it possible to have too many favourites of yours?” Haha. Only you can answer this question. I have lots of fav of yours. So, it’s possible for me.
Rachel, I am sorry I did not reply to your question (from a comment you left on another post): What do you believe? I will write to you personally if you really want to know. It’s better like this.
I hope my dearest Rachel has a wonderful week filled with sunshine. Oh, sweetheart, autumn is about to come for you.
      xoxoxo

      1. I do really want to know G, if you want to share it with me. If you have the time to! It has to possible to have so many favourites of yours. Otherwise I am doing the impossible. I could never choose.

And yes, my autumn, your spring. I will read all the upcoming spring poems with autumn leaves fluttering around my soul. Ahhh maybe I feel a poem somewhere in my bones around this. All I have to do is chat to you and I’m inspired. You’re amazing like that.

Have a wonderful week dear G.
        Xoxoxo

      2. Hi my beautiful Rachel. Of course I want to share it with you. I will soon.

“And yes, my autumn, your spring. I will read all the upcoming spring poems with autumn leaves fluttering around my soul. Ahhh maybe I feel a poem somewhere in my bones around this.” I think you are almost there with the poem. I can feel it. i can’t wait to read it.
You are amazing too. We both are amazing. How does this sound to you? 🙂
Have a fabulous rest of the week, sweetheart.
        love, hugs, love, hugs, love…
        G.

      3. “You are amazing too. We both are amazing. How does this sound to you? “

You know, my immediate reaction to this was to think of all the ways that I could not be included in that statement. Then I thought ‘but G wrote that, it must be true.’ So, there you go. Your friend is smiling over here in another latitude, all thanks to you.

Happy Friday, and a big bunch of wildflowers , delivered to your door xoxox

      4. “You know, my immediate reaction to this was to think of all the ways that I could not be included in that statement” I knew that. My sweet Rachel retreats first.
“‘but G wrote that, it must be true.’” With me or without me, you are amazing, Rachel.
You are a great poet and a beautiful heart.
I am sending you a bunch of roses and and a bunch of lavender in a beautiful basket.
        Have a wonderful weekend.
        xoxoxo

  10. Gabriela, this was a beautiful poem to read, to absorb, to experience. I loved the rhythm, the images created and the perfect words that reach out and touch with their meaning. This line I do not understand: “I ask for the help gravediggers can grant…” not that it isn’t a precise and lovely image that it creates…lovely poem, beyond compare. You are an artist…

    1. Hello Francisco and thank you for your beautiful words. They mean a lot to me.
“I ask for the help gravediggers can grant…” What can gravediggers do? Bury. I guess that’s all I am asking there “to be buried.”
Thank you again for your kind words and for stopping by.
      Best wishes
      G.

      1. Yes, that was what I thought about the line…it is a very particular line and it shows your imagination as an artist and your creativity as a writer…always a pleasure to stop by and read your lovely work Gabriela
