the first I love you #love poem # poetry #micropoetry

the moon is pregnant with desires
talismans caress your skin
naked shoulders dream

mirrors, phantoms of your thirst
passions hidden to the eye
chains pull you to me

between lines I take you
to the land of the first I love you

  1. A lover lives through the lines of your poetry. I find the use of “chains” interesting, and am not sure what to make of it. Perhaps the lover is, metaphorically speaking, forever caught/chained to the poem, although, thinking about it, I’m not sure that I’ve written does, in fact make sense. I am guilty perhaps of a stream of consciousness response to your beautiful poem, Gabriela. Kevin

    1. Oh, Kevin, thank you so much for your gorgeous stream of consciousness response. I love it. “Chains” here used in a figurative way. Yet, I love your interpretation: “caught/chained to the poem.” Beautiful.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
      Weather ok?

      1. Thanks for your lovely response to my comment Gabriela. The sun comes and goes on a cold winter’s day, here in the UK. And I rather like it that way. Have a lovely weekend, Gabriela and I hope all is good with you. Kevin

        Can you handle the praise?

I always found it hard to accept compliments but been working on it

      2. I don’t think in terms of praise. I think more generosity, love, kindness. And yes, I can handle that.

  3. The longing and yearning are delivered in such a dreamy and ethereal way that I hear the words as a whisper in my ears when I read it. Another lovely composition!

  5. My dear friend, I find myself searching this first love in the lines and between them in this poem. The form and beauty of it perfectly lends itself to that. I do believe I found it, the passion so clearly swells and rises with the words.

“the moon is pregnant with desires
talismans caress your skin
naked shoulders dream”

So stunning. Can I borrow your term “poetess of the heart” and apply it to you?

I hope your weekend is full of love and happiness xoxoxox

      2. I certainly shifted longitudes. I fell like I felt when I was in Japan 🇯🇵 I got the sweet dreams. I am taking them back to bed with me. Thank you so much 🙏🤗🌸💕

      3. Oh, Rachel I forgot to tell you that I fell asleep listening to some retro Italian music. I’ll send you a song tomorrow. You tell me if you like it.
