Andalusian Resurrection #poem #poetry

In Spain, the dead are more alive than the dead of any other country in the world.
Federico García Lorca

open your veins Andalusia
let him drink from your lynx blood
inject the rhythms of the flamenco
under the coldness of his eyes
tattoo his flesh with tiles of azurite
pour the sounds of castanets
into his arms
my fingers swirl
the flesh of ripened olives
covers the old shroud
the flow of blood from the white shirt
has stopped
I hear his voice
there is one cross
and you’re my only love
my body arches
oils flame in my hair
a Moorish verse falls from a wall
covering my cries

Andalusia
I kneel among your cacti fed by salt
your wounded lashes
resurrected him
for yet
another night

  5. perché nell’arte inspiegabile dell’essere noi apparteniamo a:

quando il suono delle onde tocca il tuo cuore

ti parla di persone che non vedono mai l’oceano

quando vivi nel comfort e nella moda

    niente parla abbastanza forte

I am so honored and so humbled in a way that you will never know.

      Una bella serata, Flavio.

    1. My most sincere thanks for reading and appreciating. I am humbled by your words.
      Ole xx

  6. Excellent and thank you for sharing it. Spain has given us much and I often enjoy day trips, the border is about an hour from my house. The beautiful seaside village which inspired Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and many others is host to a small cemetary like most small French villages. I’ve never visited the cemetary there without observing pilgrims to the grave of the famous poet Antonio Machado. I did a post on him a few years ago on one of my blogs. Perhaps it is time to reblog it.

    1. Thank you so much for your fabulous comment. I am humbled by your praise.
There is so much history, art, and beauty in that area. The place inspires. I visited the grave of Antonio Machado.
I think rebloging that post is an excellent idea. If you do it, I look forward to reading it.

Have a excellent rest of the day/evening and thank you again for your comment!

      1. It should be there, Winnie. I can see it from my blog.
Anyway if you do not find it I’ll send it to you later
        Xoxo

  7. Ahhh Andalusia…the way you can infiltrate the hardest exterior of a person and fill their spirit with music, romance, history. Passion. Sighs.

But that is you G, it is you that gives Andalusia the power to get into my soul and mind while I drink my coffee, thousands of miles away.
It’s brilliant G, as always, you transport me xoxo

    1. Thank you so much for this beautiful comment, Rachel. It brings plenty of sunshine in my life.
      💕🙏❤️🍫💝❤️

  8. Good evening G,
