I am the one #poem #poetry #published

I am the voice of your past loves
resounding in your wildest fantasies
dressed in roses at the altar of your dreams
I am the one you’ve never had
my soul flows from the tears of the Nile
from the hands of children who still beg
through ruins, darkness, and deep pain
through wars which they will never understand
I am the last who will be saved
for I have sinned under the shadow of His cross
when Spanish fountains cry in the sunset
I am the Desdemona who you’ve never met
today Granada’s just the place
in which García Lorca once was killed
I am the feather of a gold macaw bird
and in the city where bells toll
I am the one whose cries you’ve never heard.

    1. Thank you so much, Eric. I tried to sleep but it did not work. Perhaps tonight.
Have a great afternoon. I hope is sunny in England 🙂

  1. You are the voice of so many things, but I am always astounded by the breadth and depth of your literary, historical and geographical knowledge. And then, you add the beauty and depth of emotions with a good dose of romance and sensuality. And the overall effect is like a sigh that originated from somewhere deep in one’s soul.

    I’m in awe.
    xox

    1. I am catching every word of you. I am breathing them. I am so grateful for your kindness, my dearest R.
” historical and geographical knowledge.” I’ve always seen myself as part of the landscape. Lost in the beauty and the enigma of our surroundings.
Yes, this poem was a sigh that originated in my soul. Then it got lost in the landscape.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend filled with joy and love.
      xoxo

      1. I think poetry is like a second skin to you, just in your nature, so when you write it just naturally flows into something …beautiful and right. I love what you said about yourself as part of the landscape and enigma of the surroundings.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend too my friend. I am actually travelling over some seas this weekend myself – not as many as to where you are, but still, a little closer xox

      2. Thank you so much, my dearest R.
Have a wonderful trip. Enjoy every minute 🙂
        xoxo

    1. My deepest thank for reading and for your beautiful comment.
“I especially attached myself to this piece…” that means a lot to me.
Looking forward to explore the link you left as soon as I finish replying to the other comments.
      Thanks again for being here.

  2. Oh my! This is absolutely brilliant. Oh how this one drew me in as I,listened to all those voices. Just brilliant

    1. I am again humbled and delighted by your comment. You brought a lot of joy in my life this morning. Thank you.

  3. Touching! don’t know when or where, this lifetime or in some other space but I must have met with these ideas so beautifully expressed by you: ‘I am the voice of your past loves’ ‘I am the last who will be saved’ ‘I am the one whose cries you’ve never heard.’ cause ‘my soul flows from the tears of the Nile
from the hands of children who still beg
through ruins, darkness, and deep pain
through wars which they will never understand’
    Beautiful!

    1. Hey there Daniela,
Thank you so much for your kindness and your praise. Perhaps you met these ideas in your soul, perhaps you read this poem before. In any case, your comment fills my heart with joy.
      Have a beautiful afternoon.
BTW did you get my comment to your most recent poem?

  4. Hola G,

I just adore this piece. It resonates. The flow is hypnotic and dreamy. The words enchanting. Vivid images (your trademark) brings a sweet clarity to this wonderful write. Everything is just sheer perfection. And the finale, a beautiful and haunting poetic exclamation point.

Will have to designate this one as my new favorite. Hope you don’t mind.

    1. Good morning Drew,
Is it morning? Does the sun shine? 🙂
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your beautiful comment. The designation suits me perfectly. For now 🙂
Do I have a trademark? That is so sweet of you to say.
Wishing you the most hypnotic and dreamy day ever!

      1. Still morning here. Bright and sunny. (I was a bad boy. skipped the gym today. Craving a crossaint, too.) Life is short.

The way you write, I assure you the designation is temporary. Yes, there is a SPF brand. Soon we will have to invent a logo. LOL

Wishing you a day full of sunshine, smiles, and inspiration. Take care.

      2. Oh, my, gym? Drew, please, you got to meet an alligator. Just run in a zigzag pattern as I told you. It’s fun.
        Don’t believe a word. I am joking 🙂
Croissant and coffee: both sound great. I can talk myself in making coffee but I got to get in the car and drive to buy a croissant. Thinking about.
A logo. LOL . Perhaps Ankit can help me with that. He is very good.
Drew, I wanted to say something about the last piece on your blog, but you did not want any comments. You blocked me 🙂
Be inspired and enjoyed your day.

      3. Ankit is the perfect man for the SPF theme song. A beautiful soulful hymn.

The last piece. The short story or today’s reblog about moi? Another blogger told me my micro short reminded him of a short story by Jorge Luis Borges. I just ordered a collection of his short stories on Amazon.

I think I will keep most Thursday posts closed comments to better manage the blog and my vison. It should free up more time to work my my novel. Apologies.

      4. The short story. I did not get to your today’s post yet. I’ll be there soon.
Jorge Luis Borges. One of my favorite writers. A titan of the Latin American space. Quite a compliment, Drew.
But then you deserve compliments when it comes to your writings.
        Enjoy the read 🙂

  5. “I am the voice of your past loves
    resounding in your wildest fantasies
dressed in roses at the altar of your dreams
I am the one you’ve never had”

A recurring theme in my life. I felt like I was part of this. Beautiful!!

    1. Good morning, Rob
I am glad you enjoyed the piece. Many thanks for reading and commenting.

  6. This is so beautiful, dear G! You are one of my inspiration here in the blogosphere. Your words always wowed me especially this one.❤️

    1. Thank you so much for your beautiful comment, Gina. You made my morning brighter.
