Fathoms of your kisses float on my fingers.
Water lilies sleep on green lips of hidden lakes.
Leaves of poetry murmur in a willow tree.
Ripped apart by the gallop of an Arabian horse the night bleeds.
Sand and blood. Memories of the forgotten breath of our Sahara: the Sahara in which fate played games.
Spaces, times, light crawl upon each other like flapping fish in a net.
The enigma of “to be.”
The simplicity of me.

Aw.. I am delighted you think so. Thank you.
My pleasure.. Your words are always rich..
Thank you again.
Good morning G,
A most beautiful and inspiring piece. Love how you ended this. Those last two lines feed so many thoughts to one’s mind. The entire piece had a dreamy feel to it. Your words floated on your fingers projecting vivid images to your readers.
It was a wonderful poem.
Good morning Drew.
Thank you for your beautiful comment. I am glad you like the ending. It means a lot to me.
Wishing you a dreamy day π
Smiling. Wishing you the very same, thought I suspect you are having one, thus you wrote this inspiring piece.
Thank you for your wishes, Drew. Wait till I make you laugh π
LOL
I felt bad I wrote that. I should have not done it. The most important thing here is your poem. The truth is that when I read it it ripped my heart. It’s gorgeous, Drew. It hurts.
You make me laugh so hard. Great sense of humor. At times a bit of a dry wit too.
Thank you for your beautiful appreciation G.
It really warms my quixotic heart.
You are welcome, Drew.
the expanse of the Sahara and contrasting lips of the river given your poem an ethereal feel G
Thank you so much, Gina. I was a bit afraid that brings together the two is not going to work. Your comment makes me feel much better.
Have a beautiful evening.
they both symbolized tenacity to be though so diverse from each other, so your pairing was most perfect in my humble opinion
Thank you again, Gina. Now, I feel happy π

Another poem with its own unique magic, creating a world as beautiful as the poem that describes it. “Spaces, times, light crawl upon each other like flapping fish in a net.” Your ability to create fresh, uncommon associations between abstract concepts and concrete images is a thing to be admired, G, especially since you do it with such elegance.
Aw.. David, Good morning. Thank you very much for your beautiful and insightful comment. You made my day. I got a notification that you posted. I’ll be there soon π

Wow, now it is my turn to be woken up by a poem of yours. “Spaces, times, light crawl upon each other like flapping fish in a net”. I feel like this spans the breadth of the cosmos and of the personal psyche and memories, and gives the effect of the impossibility of it all, the flapping anxiety of being trapped, of knowing your fate of the horse having galloped ….. Of being left, destroyed. The contrast of the serenity and beauty of it all as it was before (gosh how beautiful are those opening lines, especially ” Leaves of poetry murmur in a willow tree. “). And then, the vastness the Sahara, ripped and left bleeding. And then the final lines – “the enigma of to be, the simplicity of me”. I am filled to the brim with emotion reading this. I love this G, and it makes me want to send you the biggest hug ever π xoxo

AW.. thank you so much, my dearest R. I do not know what to say. I am so grateful for your gorgeous comment.
” I feel like this spans the breadth of the cosmos and of the personal psyche and memories, and gives the effect of the impossibility of it all, the flapping anxiety of being trapped” that’s exactly the way I felt when I wrote it. “the impossibility of it all” How did you know? How did you feel that?
Your comment brought tears in my eyes. They are still there now when I write.
I am the one to send you the biggest hug ever. I’ll send it towards the west. Only one ocean to cross. And I surely hope it gets to you.
May all the magic and the goodness of this world be with you!

I just got that hug G, it must have taken the short cut. I really felt the emotion of this poem, every line is essential and beautiful in its own right but adds to the cumulative meaning of the whole… It hurt my heart a little with it’s beauty, and it’s sadness. Your writing is so special, never stop xoxo
Yay! You got the hug! It flew fast π
Thank you again for your wonderful comment, R.
