The ocean caught a glimpse of our past: love roots starting and ending in us.
In the distance, a white sail: the giant wing of a wounded albatross.
Red, blue, yellow giving to gold: the vastness of dead sands.
An insidious wave disturbed the effigy of loss.
You.

Hola G,
This tiny little write was scarce with words but so powerfully done and with wonderful imagery. Love how you ended this piece, too. A beautiful companion to my morning coffee. And inspiring way to start the day.
You never lose your touch.
Good morning, Drew
I hope it’s a good one. No alligators π
Thank you for your wonderful words. As always very grateful to you.
May you have a beautiful, inspiring Sunday. Be safe.
Thank you G. I have been resting and relaxing.
Preparing to revamp my blog. Need to do things different to spare my eyes.
Have a beautiful and inspiring rest of your day.
Yes, you need to take care of your eyes.
Glad you are resting and relaxing.
My day? I am looking for my day. I still can find it. Jet-lagged. Need coffee.
May your day be fabulous, Drew.
Still feeling jet-lagged?
Your going to convince me to put that overseas vacay on hold.
Please take care.
Haha! Don’t do that π

Alligators are those words from which Andrew fears.
I am reminded of “with my cross bow I shot the albatross”. I see in your poem something touching on the loss of innocence, as with the killing of the innocent bird, but interpretation is not really something at which I am particularly good. Best wishes – Kevin
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, Kevin. My readers’ interpretation means a lot to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing yours.
I love your interpretation, Kevin. I really do. You made me feel my writing in a different way.
vastness of dead sands…

Sometimes it feels like the ocean sees everything, keeps history, secrets, holds us. Everything is on such a huge scale, so vast… as is the loss that is so heart wrenching in this poem. You have captured such depth of sadness in this. I love it.
I hope you are well my lovely friend xoxo
Thank you so much, my dearest R. Sometimes I feel my sadness is as vast as the ocean.
love and hugs to you.

Oh G. That is a lot of sadness…… you captured it in this poem. I hope that the ocean delivers you from that sadness too. Are you still travelling, or home now?
Love and hugs back xoxo
