  1. Congratulations for the recognition of your amazing work, Gabriela.

I particularly love the following lines:

“the plight of souls sold for two pennies in slave markets
inside the lonely poetry of night”

    1. Thank you so much. I am really humbled by your comment. I love those lines two. And your vocals. Remember that 🙂

      1. You’re welcome. And thank you for your kind words. You might be the only person on the planet who likes my vocals. 🙂

      2. I don’t believe that at all. I think you are the only person on this planet that doubts your vocals.

    1. My dearest Winnie, thank you so much for your kind words and your support. You are a gem. Hugs and love to you.

  2. Oh so much painful poem about the lonely poetry of nights-“the plight of souls sold for two pennies in slave market….”so much heart touching.
Dear G!! Congratulations for publishing your this so much emotional poem.🌹

  3. Congratulations once again! The entire poem is haunting in its emotion and language, and the ending is so deftly done. The mention of “memories un-lived” particularly grabs my attention. Such a neat little paradox to think over!

    1. Hey there, David. Thank you so much for reading. I love your comment. “Memories un-lived” I am glad it grabbed your attention. Now that I think more about it suits one of your characters. Am I right?

      1. Hi, G! You’re welcome, and as ever the pleasure is mine. Yes, now you mention it, I think the phrase does suit one of my characters. I’m thinking specifically of Isabelle and her attempts to replace the missing sense of heritage with constructed placeholders. Is that who you had in mind?

      2. Hey David. Yes, that’s exactly what I had in mind. Can’t wait to read more from your novel. Not home yet, but when I get there I will be able to comment more on your excerpts.

  4. Boom. Speaking of fireworks, this poem has certainly sparked something in me…. my turn to be beyond words. So much beautiful in here G. I am going to come back to this when I have some more time. But, wow, I love it. And congrats on being published again, you certainly deserve it xoxox

    1. Thank you so much, my dearest R. Send me some fireworks. You promised.

      1. I am inside in the air conditioning, but I am drinking some kind of kale juice. It’s awful. I will switch to lemonade 🙂

      2. It’s supposed to be healthy.
Anyway, I already stop drinking it. As I said I’m switching to lemonade so I get get my dose of sugar 🙂

      3. LOl. You know what? I was just thinking to get an espresso. Kid you not. Enjoy yours. It’s already made. I’ll go to Starbucks later 🙂
