Memories #poetry #short prose

Meadows where trees sleep, and rivers stretch like cats.
Fairies dance tarantella in the air.
Your purple lips reflect the shadows of the women you will love.
Memories.
Your eyes as thirsty as the surface of the moon.
Sandy dunes.

      1. Your welcome! Your verse inspired it and it’s meant to invoke a fairy in the guise of fire flies. Here is the rewrite:

        Before my eyes
She dances upon the wind flashing
        Brightly all night

      2. Oh, how beautiful . I am really grateful to you for the rewrite and for your kind words.

    1. Thank you so much, Ash. I hope this made your day an ounce more beautiful. (an ounce of gold πŸ˜‰ )
      Have a fabulous day.

  1. It’s amazing that such a short work can be so transporting. I never thought of the moon as thirsty, but now I can’t believe I never made that connection. Wonderful display of imagination, G!

    1. Hey there David,
Always grateful to you for the praise and for your comments.
“I never thought of the moon as thirsty.” Funny, because I’ve been thinking of that since I was a kid πŸ™‚
Your writings are so inspirational, David. I’ve never thought of underwater roses. You did. So there!
Have a fabulous day and thank you again πŸ™‚

      2. On my most recent post, no. I checked my spam folder as well (now that I know where it is) and nothing’s showing up. No views are recorded either. I have a feeling I’ll be contacting customer support.

      1. My pleasure. Haha! I have tried for about three months. All I’ve done is to look at the picture and ask myself: What on earth I am supposed to write? However, I am learning from you πŸ™‚

Great to hear from you. I hope everything is well. Glad you loved that line πŸ™‚

      1. I am glad everything is ok. As for reviews… On one of my published poems one guy took the time to write a long epistle and told the entire world how bad my poem was. Actually it was not even a critique of the poem it was more of a personal attack πŸ™‚ Lol…
Take care Victoria. Good luck with everything!

Where rivers stretch like cats. You transpost us with these amazing descriptions. The entire piece was so beautiful with so many perfect lines. The brush stroke of each word and phrase adding to this wonderful portrait you painted.
