fragrant roses #poem #poetry

in town
gestures of disoriented lovers
sigh
vermeil of the candelabra in the sky
somebody gathers petals in a Spanish bowl
inaudible, your feelings skirmish
to escape your soul

a streetlamp dressed in purple looks at you
I lost the earrings that you gave me in the spring
a samovar exhales aroma of black tea
behold the time of you and me
debauchery in summer
fragrant roses
poetry

A gorgeous piece of writing, Sweet flow and rhyme. Vivid images to delight and enchant.
Your personification was so smooth. That is what I always admire about your work. The way your poetry is never forced. It is always naturally beautiful.

Yesterday it occurred to me that the last cat 5 that landed in Florida was called “Andrew” (a the time I was not in the US) . So be good πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
Stay inspired. Looking forward to your next post.

      1. Andrew was the most destructive hurricane to hit Florida when you compare yesterday’s dollars to today.

A couple of years later I visited Miami and fell in love.

Your writing always flows so effortlessly. I hope to be able to write like that someday.

Have a gorgeous day. Going to take a dip in the pool.

  3. Your poetry seems to consistently transport me to a warm, fragrant night, decorated with garlands of love and passion, bare arms and sun-kissed skin. Late dinners with those who love you, laughter or sorrow, love. The happenings between lovers and friends and whole communities, heavy and light…. music…. I spent some time in Spain, and this is where your poetry is often set in my mind. I feel like I get to go back there for a moment. It is so evocative G.

I felt and inhaled the fragrance of this poem like I was there. These lines :

    inaudible, your feelings skirmish
to escape your soul

That’s what happened to me when I read this. I really love your writing.
