Sea Snake #poem #poetry #short prose

One hundred degrees FahrenheitΒ in the shade.
The scent of you and that of the salty ocean.
Sand in your hair.
Your wet shirt coiled at my feet.
Inside the echoes of a pink conch, my love for you tosses like a new born in a crib.
A paddle-like tail raises from the water; a sea snake.
Your green eyes devour me.
Why is there always a snake inside the core of our myths?

  1. Good morning G.
Oh my God. This is what you write while I am suffering from PTVB (post traumatic vacation blues). Oh the beautiful pain……

Gorgeous as always. You painted these images so perfectly. Now if you could do something about that darn sea snake.
I am a friend of the animals, but sea snakes and serpents……yuck

Have a gorgeous day. Get the sand out of your hair. lol

    1. Good morning Drew.

Thank you so much for the praise. You just added sunshine to my day.
I can charm the snake, don’t worry πŸ™‚ The sand was in his hair, not in mine. πŸ™‚

Have a sweet productive day, and thank you again for your beautiful comment, Drew.

      1. Oh, I am certainly a snake charmer πŸ˜‰
I wasn’t there. I’ve never been on a beach. I made the entire story up. lol

        Have a good one Drew!

      2. Actually the other day I killed a snake. I had no choice. No time for charms.
Keep that between you and me. I don’t want to have it on my poetic resume πŸ™‚
