the dark flag of pain #poem #poetry

i open doors which you can’t see
under my father’s heavy eyelids
tenderness gets harder every day
i ache and cry
inside the same sunset in which you left
the smell of morphine saturates my skin
in Campo de’ Fiori people still sell grapes
some still believe the Freudian nonsense about sex
gale winds blow the dark flag of pain
a lonely boat sits anchored in the bay
my soul is scattered in the west
my tears form a phase which reads
tomorrow is already yesterday

  1. Happy Sunday G. You painted powerful and painful images. Many wonderful lines here, but none more compelling than the juxtaposition in your finale “tomorrow is already yesterday.” It says so much and in a very haunting way. When that tomorrow we have always dreaded finally arrives,…….we may know it was coming, but it can still hurt us just as profoundly. Perhaps, that wasn’t your intent…but that is what resonated in me. Made me think back on many days that I wished had never arrived.

You have my mind swirling on many possibilities……
Thank you for reaching into the depths of your soul to pen this.

Have a wonderful day dear G. May the sun shine brightly over you. Be well.

  2. Bonsoir

  5. My dear friend G!! Your lines in this poem”my tears from a phase which reads tomorrow is already yesterday..”and title’s name”The dark flag of pain”are forcing me to think negative points of life.it is natural that every tomorrow changes in today after then yesterday.but according your poem there is no hope in tomorrow.nobody knows about tomorrow but in every life, tomorrow is come.if we have positive thoughts, tomorrow brings many miracles for us.it is true that some pains of past reflect in our daily routine.it is blessed things for a emotional poet/writer for inspiration.but why we take our pain in dark way.if we have positive attitude then all pains can be convert into most amazing n happy inspiration.amour may be deceive us but feelings of love live with our soul forever like a blessed gift given by God.i do not give most importance to beloved because he is poor guy having most evils of this world but feelings of life are like gems for pure soul.it can touch the height of sky and become blessed by God at last.you are more lucky than others in this way. Plz take your tomorrow as your fresh morning coffee not as sleeping pills at night.besides all things,i want to say that you are amazing and unique poetess.i like your all amazing poems like the pearls in oyster.can we not take sweet memories in our past and forget all bitterness?plz do not mind as i said you.i know you are most emotional.if you mind please forgive me because i can not comparison with you.i am a smallest guy in front of you.dear,if you think some wrong in my thoughts then i apologise to you.hope-you will not take me in wrong way.🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹you are my friend having a pure soul, dear!!
