when roses sleep #poem #poetry

open the window

let me feel the wind which blew

when i was born

open you palms

let me eat the fruits of the soil

which fed me first

open your heart

and let me breathe the poetry

of the sunsets when roses sleep

and church bells toll

over the land

where i was born

  1. Good morning G. This was so beautiful. It made me feel a nostalgic and deep longing for the simpler times of our childhood/infancy, a time of our wonder and innocence. For me; you captured this so well with your painted images.

Evidently, you are going to make 2019 a very inspiring year for all of us.

    1. Good morning, Drew. I am thrilled that you liked it. I really am. “the time of innocence” I love this phrase. Do you want to write a poem about? I would love to read it 🙂

I hope your morning coffee is going well and thank you for letting me know about the typo. You are a really good friend, Drew!

Hey, I just reported a blog that left me a hate comment and WordPress won’t do anything about it. They suggested Spam and trash it. Then blacklist the blogger.
        Very disppointing.

      4. I am sorry to hear about this, Drew. It’s a shame that WP does not want to do anything about.
All of us have to do something about.

On the other hand, the muse is with you, the coffee was good, so stay inspired!

  3. Like a rose, this poem is simple and elegant, which makes it very beautiful indeed. The lightly nostalgic tone had an enjoyable effect as well. Even though the poem doesn’t go into specifics, it is still able to suggest happy memories of younger days, which automatically provokes fond memories. A real testament to the power of your words!
