book of poetry #poem #imagination

a book of poetry falls onto my lap
sinful kisses drown into the river’s night
love equations chant behind the door
Beatrice commits the mortal sin
birds are nesting in my palms

the flesh of shadows waltzes on the roofs
a squeaky door stops wailing in the wind
imaginary fairies land onto your skin
my fingers knead desires in a dough
a button drops into a bewitched well

i bite my lips
i laugh
possibilities
range of poetry

    1. Thank you so much, my dearest Y. I am so grateful to you for your beautiful comment. May the new year shower you with love and happiness. Thinking about you.

  1. Clever and whimsical and a wonderful way to start the new year, my dear G! I can picture reading this piece in a book of poetry, mostly because of the title but also because the imagery was so masterful. Sending you warm wishes for a great 2019! β™₯οΈπŸ’•πŸŒŸπŸŒΈ

  2. Good morning and happy new year. Hope the holidays treated you well G.

What a delightful way for me to return to blogging (and the cyber world). This was beautiful as always and rich in imagerary. Have a beautiful day and may this year fill your heart and soul with love, happiness, and inspiration.

    1. Good morning, Drew! What a delight to read your comment! Welcome back to the blogging world!
I know the coffee ritual went well because it always does, doesn’t it? How is your novel going?

      1. Yeah, took a week off from blogging, phone, and email. Just concentrated on the novel (and of course having fun). Novel is going much better now. At times I felt I was a ship lost in a storm, but now I see that beacon guiding me. Thanks for asking.

It was quite a wonderful experience to disconnect oneself. Sort of like returning to the stone age before the internet (I am sure you are too young to remember that).

No the coffee ritual isn’t always perfect, but today it was absolutely wonderful! Smiling.

        Have a gorgeous day.
