i’ll give you what you’ve never had #poem #poetry

you

your tired feet have walked the desert

thorns and thistles scarred your skin

consumed by fires

enraged by liars

your nights of passions

felt like the apocalypse

enter my room

you bearer of the bleeding hearts

i’ll lock the door

and toss the key out of the window

come in my arms

i’ll read you poems written by Baudelaire

i’ll give you wine

made in Mendoza

adulterated prayers from the faraway Corinth

the walls are gray

the music plays

a reddish sunset lingers on my dress

and when my left leg steps back

into the rhythms of tango nuevo

i’ll give you what you’ve never had

the scream of the primordial ecstatic bite

and then the abolition of all sins

    1. Good morning, Drew. Thank you so much for your praise. I am happy you liked the poem.

On a different note, my blog is acting up. I cannot go to yours to see if you posted or not. That bothers me.

      Did you post?

      1. This was an awesome write.
Very frustrated with my own blog. So many people tell me they only see my comments when they check their dashboard. Others never find me in their Reader.

        Yes, I did post.

      2. I am reading your comment in my dashboard now. I am going to try again to reach your blog again.

If I can’t do it when you have time can you leave your poem in my comments? If that’s ok with you. If not, I will understand.

      1. Haha! It’s Monday here too. Thank you for reminding me😊 I got to get going! Have a lovely week 🌸

    1. Aw… You got the hat. That’s a start. If you have some Mendoza wine you are in 🙂
You also have the words, Eric. You wrote a beautiful poem. I left a comment on your blog. Probably it ended up in your spam folder.

I hope you get this one.

      Have a great evening!

      1. Dear G – I’ve no idea how but you are right I found your comment on my poem where you should never be – spam – the last place I’d ever look for you!!! You are now restored to your rightful place, up front and centre where I can see you – looking good my friend! I’d have the wine to hand if I hadn’t spent so much on dance lessons!!

      2. My intuition, Eric, or maybe more than that 🙂 Thank you for restoring me.
The hat should be enough. I’ll buy the wine 🙂

  1. Wow! ”i’ll give you what you’ve never had
the scream of the primordial ecstatic bite
and then the abolition of all sins”
    Delightfully sensual, dear!

  2. I really wish someone read me poems written by Baudelaire and gave me wine made in Mendoza. And quelled my sleepless fury with the gentlest touch, and put an end to despair and desperation. Such a beautiful poem.

    1. Aw… Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, Nitin. May your wish come true 🙂

I am so glad you are back. Your today’s posts are out of this world!

      1. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words my friend. I’ll always cherish your support. And you’re very welcome.
