My poem “Untranslated Love” published in Vita Brevis
give me the stars
that shine under the bridges
where poor children spend their nights
the blood that leaks from wounds of war
when the last piece of bread is turned in tar
give me the language of your alabaster gestures
the guilty passion of Tristan for Queen Isolde
the mystery of painted nudes on walls
the cries of nuns under an angel’s lacerated wing
your untranslated love coiled in a tarnished ring

Good morning. Congratulations. This poem is so deserving of this merit and much more. The star and heavens is where you beautiful, inspiring poetry belongs. Today, your poetry is published, someday your novel. Congrats dear friend, I am very happy for you.
Good morning, Drew! Thank you so much for your wonderful words! I am flattered that you think so highly of my work!
And of you my dear.
I don’t like to pry, but my coffee is strong today, so I will be bold. How are you doing with that wonderful story you are penning?
Ayyyy… Thank you for asking! Working on… trying to find the time to finish…. too many things going on in my life now. Maybe I will it ready next summer. Try to some put leche in your coffee 🙂 🙂 🙂
Sorry to hear about that. I am having the same problem with my novel about reincarnation and eternal love. I hope things calm down for both of us so we can finish them. As for the coffee, one sugar but too much coffee, I will be energetic today with this caffeine overload.
Looking forward to reading your novel when ready!
Do you think that drinking coffee will help me finish sooner? Looking for advise 🙂
LOL Time. That is the only thing that will help us finish our work, Time. I am planning my next vacation to get away from the blog and write. I want to be the first to read yours. Waiting for your next excerpt.
Thank you for saying that! I should do the same. And probably I will.
A new excerpt will come next week.
Ah.. your coffee’s getting cold 🙂
LOL A muse that does comedy too.
Anxious to read it. Coffee is done. LOL
Have a beautiful day.
and you have a fabulous one!

Thank you so much. It means a lot to me that you enjoy my post.
Congratulations! One of the very strong poems. Every time I am surprised because I discover new aspects /. For example, I paid attention to the random rhyme pairs
war / tar
wing / ring
Good example of amplification the suggestion / mark for good poetry!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, dear B! You are always so kind to me!

Happy weekend to you too!
Good morning! Sorry to be a day late with my response. Congratulations on the publication of this piece. Writing like this deserves to be put out there as much as possible. I even noticed something new in this reading; all of the things the speaker asks for are nonverbal (except the cries of the nuns, and even those aren’t necessarily distinct words). Even the language of the alabaster gestures is nonverbal because, even though it is a language, it’s one of gestures, not words. It points to the idea that the deepest truths are the ones left unspoken because there aren’t words to do them justice. Such a deep poem that I love coming back to.
Good afternoon, David! Thank you so much for the congrats, for the praise, and for your analysis. Indeed, I tried to use “nonverbal language.” You are the only one who noticed that. I am thrilled you did!
Nothing to be sorry about. Enjoy your summer, and thank you again!
As ever, you’re welcome! “You are the only one who noticed that.” Aw shucks, I feel honored 🙂
Hope you’re enjoying your summer as well!
I’m trying, but the summer is almost over, and…
Have a fabulous evening!
Dear G I’ve been away … now back to a voice, as words, without title, without name, I’d know as yours …
My dear Eric, very grateful to you! Just a few words that say so much! Thank you!!!!

Absolutely incredible writing! You are simply magnificent Gabriela…and to add, you’ve included a Magritte as an illustration…perfect. I’ve been going through some of your older posts that I never saw and, although I’ve not commented on every poem I have read, I have loved them all! You are an incredibly awesome writer!
With love from Valencia,
Francisco
Thank you Francisco. I don’t know what else to say. I am honestly humbled by your words. I don’t think I am a magnificent writer but it feels good to know you think so.
“you’ve included a Magritte as an illustration” I did 🙂 I love that painting. I should include more.
“I’ve been going through some of your older posts” I made private about 200 posts. Apparently you still found some. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Francisco. You are a great artist and a true friend.
May your Wednesday in Valencia be beautiful.
Yours
G.
You are very beautiful and very welcome Gabriela 😊. Your work is incredibly powerful, meaningful and enchanting. I can tell you that I never read anything like it before or that I have enjoyed more. You are a magnificent writer and a great friend. I hope you’ve a beautiful Wednesday as well. It is a lovely morning here, bright sun, about 16 degrees and a great day to be alive! God bless our world and save those who are dying and stop this virus completely so everyone, once again, can enjoy life without fear. But for now, we heed the protocols and we stay home and look out the windows…the pigeons are enjoying our streets…
Love, peace and happiness from the Mediterranean,
Y un fuerte abrazo,
F.
Thank you so much Francisco. I am grateful and humbled.
“I can tell you that I never read anything like it before or that I have enjoyed more.” It means the world to me. What else can I say?
“God bless our world and save those who are dying and stop this virus completely so everyone, once again, can enjoy life without fear.” Amen. Since I was a kid the Holy Week was a very difficult week for me. I have no idea why. I pray this Easter brings healing to the world.
“The pigeons are enjoying our streets; those streets which forgot the smile of little girls. Mark a time in our calendar; the time when dressed in pink the little girls will return. Can you hear the sea, my love? Improvisation. Jazz.” 🙂
“Love, peace and happiness from the Mediterranean.” Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Love, peace and happiness to you too.
G.
